I I can personally guarantee you this. I am the first guy on planet Earth to run that mower, that Toro Revolution battery powered mower through a cow pasture over cow turds. [Music] It ain't got no gas in it. Folks, today on the Stony Ridge Farm channel, that mower is running. It's on. What? Today we're going to be trying out an awesome Toro Z Master Revolution mower. I want you guys to post comments and tell me what you think about electric mower technology. This will mow for 8 hours. It's not the cheap garbage lightweight plasticky junk that you get. This is a commercial zeroturn mower for a landscape contractor or large property owner like myself. I cannot wait to [Applause] I ain't afraid of ain't afraid to get the job done. I ain't afraid to lie. Times like this. If you my freedom, I'll tell you what you can kiss. That's right. [Music] Now that is cool. Today is going to be fun. We have something very fun and unique for you on the channel. I have been talking to Toro for several years about getting one of these mowers and seeing if it's farm tough and seeing how awesome it is. So today we are going to show you this mower. You will see in a lot of future content because I am going to beat the snot out of it. I want to make sure that this thing is as tough as it's supposed to be. It has a 1500 hour 5year warranty and a 2year unlimited hour warranty. Unbelievable. So let's first take you through and show you these two mowers that we have here and we're going to show you the differences. This is an electric mower and I want you guys to post comments. Don't leave. Stick around. Watch to the end. I want you to hear what the performance of this machine is like, what the real world performance is. I talked to Toro. They sent this mower out here for me to run and test. And I'm going to be completely honest about everything. Everything about this mower. Everything. What I like, what I don't like, and some of the cool features. and I'll learn as the season goes on what the cool features are and what the not so cool features are. I'm sure it's got some downsides. So, let's learn a little bit. This is the Z Master Revolution electric zeroturn mower. I got to get the yard mode. Summertime is rapidly coming on and I'm having to mow a lot here lately. Typically, I'm out mowing with the Ventra tractor or this Toro Z Master 2000. I am super excited about trying this mower out. I have not ran it. I wanted to do the first run of this mower with you guys so that I can give you feedback on exactly what it feels like to run this thing. So, what we have here, we're we're going to we're going to put this on pause for just a second. This is a Toro Z Master 2000 with Myide suspension from Eden Lawn Mower. Again, it's a Toro mower. This has a cool top on it, a cool top canopy. And uh that's a canopy that turns a fan on. I'll show you that real quick. that blows on the operator real real good to keep you clean, keep the dust down, keep the grass off of you, and keep you cool. It draws air in through the top and pushes it down. Enough about that. This is the Kawasaki FX 730V. I'll post how many horsepower that thing's supposed to have. I mowed a lot of the yard with this yesterday because I wanted to get an awesome video for you guys running the new Revolution mower. This is a 60-in deck. It has a bullnose turbo force deck just like this one right here. Now, I can see some updates in the design. It has an integrated step right here on this one and an integrated step right here on this one. Belt drive system, electric motor drive system. So, very, very similar mowers, but we've got some upgrades in this department right here. I do like the idea of the canopy on top and I may go ahead and order me a canopy, but sometimes running a canopy when you got fruit trees and stuff like that can be a bit of a pain in the butt. So, I don't know. I don't know if I'll do that or not. Here's what we got going. Same adjustment system, same awesome foot pedal system, electric. And this electric motor in this machine is designed to run as like a 38 horsepower. I do believe we're running in about the 26 horsepower um range right here with this mower. I'll post it right down there what this critter is. Kawasaki electric motor. Awesome reliability, awesome reliability. Fingers crossed. I I don't know just yet. We're going to run it all summer long. Um so let's go over some of the features of how this mower works versus how this mower works. You know, clearly this is an electric zeroturn. So, when we're thinking about electric zero turns versus a gas zeroturn, we've got gasoline, non-ethanol, of course, is what I like to run. We have um a hydraulic drive system. In other words, there's a hydraulic motor that drives that wheel and a hydraulic motor that drives that wheel. We've got an engine in the back that requires servicing. It requires oil changes. We have a battery in the back right here that requires servicing. that requires changing after a few years. We have to service this mower every single year. In other words, fuel, oil, and oil, hydraulic oil for our u drive motors. Conversely, here with our hyperscell power system, we just have electric motors that drive everything. We don't have to change the oil. We don't have to change the hydraulic fluid. We don't have to carry gasoline. We don't have to stop at the gas station. We don't have to buy gas cans. We don't have to worry about spilling oil on the shop floor in the springtime if we didn't run it out of fuel. In other words, I like to run my mowers all the way dry of fuel, turn it off, and let it run till it cuts off. And that will help preserve your carburetor. Well, we don't even have to worry about that with this. We don't have to worry about taking it in the shop and having it service. We just hop on and we go mow. That's what I like. I really like the idea there. This battery system should charge in eight hours. It will run over eight hours. It It's claimed to be, but we're not fully charged right now. I have not plugged it in to charge it just yet. I've got the key on. There's a lot of cool features right here. Um I think the first thing we need to do is show you some of the features. And we got some hawks fighting up here. It looks like we'll show you some of the cool features. This has a suspension seat in it. It's adjustable. It slides forward and aft. This has the My Ride suspension system in it, which is pretty cool. It's a spring assist right here and a spring assist back there. Those are shocks and you can set it however you'd like it to be for the softness. We put our gas in right here. Again, no gas here. All we have are plugs. So, if we look right here, we've got a a plug system. And right here, I think that's another setup for another plug system. I don't know a whole heck of a lot about it. We just simply open it up, plug it in. You can charge this via 120 or 240. If you don't want someone stealing your mower, you can turn it off right here and put a pad lock on right there. Uh, an impenetrable lock. Turn it back on. You'll hear it click. Okay, just engaged, clicked. Uh, very good, high quality plastics, metal. Okay, let's talk about this chassis wise. When we talk about chassis, we've got the same steel, heavyduty chassis that Toro uses for its commercial line of mowers. That's important. It's not some cheap garbage ultra lightweight thing to help prevent it from running the battery down. This will adjust itself to the strength that it needs to cut the grass. Let's hop on the mower. It's got lights on it. Does it have lights on the rear? It's got a light on the front. It's got a uh bumper back here on the very back. I don't know about accessories just yet. I know this one has a 2-in receiver accessory on it. Um let's just hop on real quick. We step on it right here. This deck that you see uh is adjustable. In other words, you can adjust the rake of the deck for a quality of cut or for saving energy. So, if you're a landscape contractor and you're worried about it and you're going to be running 10 hours a day, you'll put this in your trailer, you'll charge it on the way to the next job, and you'll keep it topped off, I guess. Um, another thing we need to think about is how does it work? How does the drive system work? So, we've got a key system right here. We simply turn our key on. And by the way, we're going to get a decibel meter out here in just a second. We're going to show you guys how many decb this mower is compared to this gas powered mower. And there's another K Cabota diesel mower over there. So, we're going to compare all of them. You do need to wear hearing protection, eye protection, foot protection, all that stuff. Protect yourself. Okay. So, as we get in here, here is our setup. A lot of shadows here today. I'm sorry. So, we show we're in neutral. We've got a screen here that we can scroll through. Um 4 hours. This one has been ran. These are our blade speeds. Let's just go ahead and turn that on. Okay, so those are our blades. Our blades are active. I'm sorry, guys. The reflection is pretty bad right here. Uh, we'll scroll through again. This is our max traction speed, and you can go faster. You have to have it unlocked. There's a code that you can punch in, I'm told. I don't know a lot about it. I'll learn. This is our blade speed. So, right now, we're set in the very, very middle, but check it out. Watch this. [Laughter] That's how you engage your blades. Simply a switch. It's not a solenoid. It's just a toggle switch. We got our light switch right here. Got several other adjustments right here. This is how much battery we have left. And we are not going to run a full battery out of this machine today. We're just not going to do it. There's no way. Uh again, we're probably at about a 70% on our battery. Um has a super comfortable seat, very plush. Armrests are nice. I mean, this is just what you'd expect out of a commercial mower. Uh to adjust your blade height, and we've already got our blade height adjusted on the other one, and we'll put this one just to match it. So, adjust our blade height. We mash this nicely knurled foot pedal. Mash it up. This has a magnetic retention system in it. Very cool. And this is where we need to be pretty much. Now, when we raise our blade up cuz we got to go over curbs. Let's say we're a landscape contractor or there's some rocks like the Stony Ridge Farm. Then we can mash this and it locks our blade in the upright position. We want to fix that. We mash it and drop it all the way down. When we mash it all the way, it automatically flips that tab. There we go. So, the blade is in the up position. Now, we're in the down position. This mower is on. This mower is running. This mower is is I mean, it's on. So, um decibel meter wise, I think it's time we get the decibel meter and we engage the u blades on this and we see what it sounds like noisewise and we give you a full report on that. All this is fun stuff, but can you carry your water bottle? Mhm. We got a big old water bottle holder for tumblers and a regular water bottle holder for regular water bottles. And we've got USB charging right here. Got a little package tray and you can fit your phone in there also. Very, very cool. Let's put that back down. Uh, again, suspension seat. There's a knob and it adjusts back and forth that way. seat belt. I do recommend you run your seat belt if you've got yours up. Okay, rollover protection system. This is a decibel meter. I'm just talking to you in a regular voice right now, and it's reading just in a standard voice about 78.5 uh dB. So, first we're going to hop on this other mower and fire it up and see what kind of decb we get. I'm so curious about this. We're going to do it right here in front of me just like that so you guys can see it hopefully and then I'll turn around and I'll read it to you. Okay. So, let's fire this puppy up. Contact choke break. about 100.7 is the max that I got out of that. Again, just my talking voice is about 80. So, that's not too awful bad. Um, I do wear hearing protection all the time. And if I'm going to use these, I most certainly will always wear hearing protection. I don't want to be that old man that's saying, "Eh, damaging my ears is not very bright." Okay, so with this mower, we'll go ahead and turn it on. Here's starting. Meter's reading 50. That's just ambient noise. That's how many decb. Let's engage the blades. 90.4. So, we're about 10 dB difference in noise. I think right now all we got to do is hop on this thing and go mow. I mean, what else we got going to do? So, let's get out here and mow the yard with it and we'll get you guys a good time lapse and uh some good video and we'll talk about it when we get done. I've never used this mower before. I'm super curious. Let's try the K Cabota real quick. So, this is an old school K Cabota um diesel ZD25 K Cabota diesel. I'm going to say the K Cabota diesel is going to be just a little bit quieter or more quieter, however you say that. Um, let's go ahead and start it up. Clear prop It feels louder, but it's not. I got about a 99.2 on that. So, we know the electrical one's going to be much quieter. But is it that much quieter? 10 dB quieter. That's significant in my mind. Save them ears and don't punish your customers with a loud mower. Let's hop on this critter and get to mowing. folks. The uniqueness of the Z Master Revolution is that if you're a landscape contractor and you're mowing in places like apartment complexes and you need to be quiet, you can get out earlier and mow. In other words, your workday can start sooner and thus end sooner, and then you can spend more time with your family. Folks, stick around to the end. We're going to put it in some really tall grass, some really thick grass that you would never mow with a zeroturn mower, and we're just going to see how it performs. This mower is designed to increase its power when needed and decrease its power when it's not needed. That way, you're conserving battery. And again, it should last 7 plus hours up to 9 hours with an 8h hour charge time cycle. So you get home at the end of the day and you charge it up. If you're a large property owner like myself, typically I'm out in the summertime and I'm mowing 1 to two hours every other day. That gives me the opportunity to run this mower, charge it up, always keep it topped off and ready to rock and roll. And if we ever need to replace a battery, you can take it to your Toro service center and they will replace it. It has a 1,500h hour, 5-year warranty and a 2-year unlimited hour warranty. That's just unheard of. I've heard it actually mentioned that this machine should outlast the chassis. In other words, the drive systems and the motors in this machine should outlast a chassis. Now, if you hit something like a stump with one of these mower blades that's powered by an electric motor, you can simply replace the motor. There are no belts, there's no hydraulic fluid, there's no oil, there's no gasoline to worry about. I think it's an interesting concept. And gosh, for a large property owner like myself, this is going to be my goto mower. Plug it in in nighttime, get back out in the daytime, and start mowing. This thing is awesome. [Music] Well, can't argue with that. I think it was quiet. It was smooth. I learned some things about the Toro Revolution. It did a great job. By the way, it didn't stripe the yard. The yard was already striped from another mower that I uh have been using. This is going to be my all summer mower. What did I learn? I love love love being able to crank them blades up as fast as they will go. I tested it at slow speeds, medium speeds, and wide open blade speed. And buddy, this grass was deep. I'm talking about deep. Like 8 n in deep. And on high speed, insane. Stay tuned. By the way, we're going to take it through the cow pasture in grass this deep. What else did I learn? I learned the seat's super comfortable. I learned that I like that suspension part of it. I also learned while I was running it, I was watching this little meter right here that tells you how fast your blades are spinning or how much work your blades are doing. You see, we didn't drop very much power at all. Maybe, I don't know, 8%. So, I was having fun with that. There's a section for traction speed or a setting for traction speed. That isn't how fast you go. That's how much it moves when you engage or disengage your handles right here. So, in other words, it prevents you from tearing up your yard, which is something that's really tough to do, especially on wet ground with a zero turn. So, you could give it the juice. In other words, you could give it full forward for full backwards and not worry about spinning the yard up. You can also adjust that setting. So, let's say you've got a new user. Let's say your your uh your son or your daughter or your wife or your husband's never ran a zeroturn or your grandpa, whoever has never ran a zeroturn. You can reach in here and turn that down a little bit so they don't wheelie up and hurt themselves. So, that's something super cool, too. I like that. I did notice that I need to adjust my handle. So, um, for zero turn, for using your handles, you want to be able to rest that arm right on that, uh, uh, armrest, super plush armrest right there, and be able to control it with your wrist, not so much holding your arm up. You see how far that travel is? Well, there's an adjuster right here and some adjusters right here. I'm a tall guy. I'm going to bring it all the way up high. You'll see that in a future video. And I want to get it to where I can just move it like this and keep that elbow planted on here because fatigue, rider fatigue is a huge thing. Keeping it smooth. There has to be this much travel here. Keeping it smooth, rider fatigue. Halfway through the mow, I brought the deck up just ever so slightly. And that was a good idea. My grass was really, really high. And what was happening is I had to go really really slow in order to not make it uh leave stripes. So even with the blades going full bore, it still would leave stripes when I was going really fast simply because no mower could keep up with that. Now we're going to ride down here and I'm going to put it in the cow pasture real quick in some really deep grass and we're just going to mow a little patch and see how it does wide open. Maybe we'll turn the blade speed down. See how it does. I know it's not going to do as good with the blade speed down. There's no use. Once you get on this thing, you're gonna want them blades spinning max. Now, if you have a landscape business and you want to save your energy and you're mowing grass and you're only taking about that much off, then you probably don't need to worry about it. Let's take into cow pasture for the final run through. And you're going to see much more of this little mower. We're going to be testing the snot out of it. I mow three to five miles of fence line here on the farm. I keep them mowed. I'm gonna park every other mower on the farm and I'm gonna run this thing. How far or how long did we run it? We were at point4 hours a minute ago one hour. So, we ran it just a little bit over a half hour and only dropped one little bar. So, I think maybe we burnt 10 8 10%. That's about right. Okay, let's put it over in the tall grass out in the pasture. All right, here it goes. Nothing. [Music] Heat. [Music] I'm trying to get it to bog. I'm going to pull out in here and just start it. [Music] All right, we're right out in it. Here we go. I didn't expect that. Oh my goodness. That thing will bush hog. It did not bog at all. Unbelievable. There. I can personally guarantee you this. I am the first guy on planet earth to run that mower, that Toro Revolution, battery powered mower through a cow pasture over cow turds. I could guarantee you that. First one on planet Earth. Look at that. Holy cow, man. That That's a…
