What happens here

Before starting the main circular stack, it's essential to prepare the ground and ensure the firewood is elevated. First, clear any debris or snow from the chosen stacking area. Then, lay down old dock pieces or sturdy pallets to create a raised platform. Elevating the wood prevents moisture from the ground from wicking into the logs, reduces the risk of rotting, and allows for crucial airflow around the bottom layers, which is vital for proper seasoning. The video demonstrates Zakk placing individual dock pieces to form a flat, elevated base.

Goal: Create a dry and elevated foundation for the firewood stack

all all right so wa in order to keep our wood dry and off the ground and we're putting down some of these old dock pieces that we had and sticking those on the ground CU if you stick them wood just stray on the ground your bottom ones will all rot away you you could if you use it quickly enough then you could probably get away with stacking it just Square on the ground but if it's going to sit and season and they recommend putting stuff under underneath it so that way your wood can breathe and then it's not rotting away on the ground cuz otherwise you get bugs up into it and all that other stuff and it's just junk when you come to the bottom
