What happens here
Begin the process by carefully positioning a large, flat concrete paver onto the prepared sub-base (typically compacted gravel and screeded sand). Ensure the paver is roughly in its intended final location and orientation. Once the paver is in place, have one worker carefully lift and position a vibratory plate compactor onto the center of the paver's surface. The paver should be stable enough to support the compactor without immediate significant movement.
Goal: Prepare the first paver for compaction and initial adjustment by placing it and positioning the compactor.
Tools and materials
- Large concrete paver — The primary building material for constructing the paved surface
- Vibratory plate compactor — To be placed on the paver for applying vibrating force
