I Wouldn't Buy This Equipment... Here's Why

What happens here

The host then introduces a Storm Equipment snow plow, describing it as a piece of equipment that 'looks good.' The Storm Equipment representative, Jordan Smith (who previously owned BSI Equipment before selling it to Boss), explains that his new company focused on user feedback to create a robust design. The host is particularly impressed by the massive single cylinders, thick box frame design, strong cantilever, lack of weak points, and accessible pins and cutting edges.

Goal: Assess the build quality and design strengths of the Storm Equipment snow plow.

bucket on there. But before I show you what caught my attention for all the wrong reasons, let me show you what this stuff looks like when it's done right. All right, guys. Storm Equipment, this is a new equipment line. >> Correct. Correct. >> Correct. >> But you're not new in the industry by any means whatsoever because the owner of Storm Equipment is Jordan. >> Yep. Jordan Smith. >> Jordan Smith, who happens to be a friend of mine, who actually started VSI Equipment, who then sold out to Boss, and now he started his own new line of equipment. Is that correct? >> Exactly. >> And Jordan was in love with Metal Plus, but there were certain things he did not love about Metal Plus, so he changed the design and created his own version. Am I right with this? >> Yeah. Yeah, we've just taken uh the years of user feedback from you know people all over the US. Um and we've just incorporated that into our design here today. >> As I look at this, this is I can't see where you could improve upon any component of this and make it even heavier duty cuz as I'm looking at this, I'm looking at these massive single cylinders right here. I'm looking at this massive box frame design where you're pushing into the blade. >> Yep. >> I'm looking at this canterlever right here and there's no weak points in there. As I go through and I look at the pins and I look at the cutting edge, I don't see a single weak point on this. What am I missing? >> Well, the biggest thing is is you know we're we're we're snow contractors as well, so we understand like the rigors of snow removal. So when we set out here the last year designing this plow, the biggest thing you know we took into account like we would rather over build a lot of things than cut corners. Um and and that was just our our our big thing when we set out designing this was making it built the best way possible. >> So now you also have the floating moldboards. >> Yep. Floating wings or floating wings. >> So the entire >> So if I'm looking at this right, this entire section right here can has 3 in of travel? >> Yeah. Yeah, it's a little more than that. Um but yeah, essentially the whole edge from tip to tip floats. Um and then we have uh a floating edge on the center there as well. >> And then each of the sections you got 1 2 3 4 sections that are also floating. >> Exactly. >> And they trip as well. So they're…
