I woke up to CHAOS!

okay give me a kiss Grandpa's got to go to work okay what would I give if I could spend a week with my kids franking beans cuz as long as the water is moving it should not freeze smart thing is is to wait till one of the coldest days of the year to pull your pump don't do that [Music] I woke up to complete chaos it happened overnight look at this thing this has been filling for the rest of the day but look at how much water went down on this thing so what happened was this this this is what happened right here right there that is what happened I left the pumps I left the ears running and we had a flash freeze it dropped to8 last night it was 40 30 40° out then it went to8 and then it froze and then it froze and then it froze and then the water went down there and it went down there and it went all down there I'll show you the water came all the way out through the back of the barn look at how much much ice we got there that's all Pure Ice the problem is it's ne5 if you listen here you can tell how cold it is by the crunch so the salt isn't going to work some of you guys may not know know that but salt doesn't work when it hits a certain temperature so this is all pure ice the ice went all the way down there it went all the way out that way we've got ice pretty much everywhere so what we're going to do is fire up the equipment scratch that ice out and then hopefully we get a little warming temperature so that we can throw some more salt down there's salt on them but throw some more salt down and chew up that bottom of course and I could get some salt that's treated to go down to the right operating temperature but then I couldn't run equipment come on Fire have a little bit of fun today I'm going to take you guys along for the ride let's go have some fun you guys let's do this thing I do got to answer a question cuz I think I just heard one of you guys ask it well didn't you shut your pond down for the winter and the answer is you can or you don't have to now my goal was to leave it uh running obviously uh but I did not account for a flash freeze and this happening cuz as long as the water's moving it should not freeze and you can see we still got water movement down there and that's from the underground filter um I did lose a pump though one of the circul in pumps I think lost Prime and may have burned itself out and uh next up I'm going to pull this pump this is the fountain pump I'm going to see if I can't pop this lid off here and get at this pump down there we'll see if we'll see if she's thaw enough to let me let me do something like that I don't know if she is going to be thought enough [Applause] guys oh here we go oh that's not a good tell Maybe not maybe not what we got cooking so far crack open the [Applause] and yes we can still get up that pump oh yeah baby oh yeah okay all right I'm going to do is I'm going to leave this run and hopefully one of you guys will volunteer to come over in the comments down below and stick your hands in this bucket of freezing ice water up to your elbow and pull that pump out for me of course I'm going to recommend you take your jacket off and like I said it's it's anywhere from well I think it's a little warmer than5 right now it's probably closer to one or two Fahrenheit but just take your jacket off and stick your arms in there and and fish around and find where that pump is and unhook that and we'll be good to go cuz we want to pull our pumps and you know smart thing is is to wait until one of the coldest days of the year to pull your pumps not when it's like 35 or 40° out and you got plenty of time no don't do that don't do because that's not the manly way pull them when it's the absolute worst time of the year for sure do that Ah that's the Polish way that's the way a poock would do it that's the way I'm going to do it Franken beans what do we got Franken beans S one door so such Wide Doors you know the're 3 in instead of an inch and a half door th science all right and so then you actually put the are you going to put the stop right oh look it's going to get this drilled and then door shut and then I'll put the stop in okay it's going to be right on a knot just so you know of course that's well is it yeah that's the way life Works always the hardest spot of the piece of wood yeah well the one that wants to crack the most but that's going to be sharp oh so you're sanding it down so it just fits better right yeah yeah makes sense so then yeah cuz it won't close otherwise I mean yeah all right guys quick question for you what do you wear for hello dog and go to work all right guys I actually do want to share with you I you know what I don't know I want to share with you guys a pretty personal story it was almost like a revelation that I had and uh the other day I was uh not the other day probably about 6 months ago I was just reflecting I was talking with God and I was reflecting and I was thinking all right so the daughter you know you just seen my two grandbabies the daughter that had both of those grandbabies she's 20 she wasn't living at home and then my youngest son he was 18 at the time when I was thinking about this now he's 19 you know he's a 19-year-old boy still living at home but you never see him I mean if you see him 5 minutes out of the day you're lucky right and I was talking with God and I'm like you know thinking back to when those kids were young as a parent I missed them and I really really missed them I'm like oh my gosh what would I give if I could spend a week with my kids back at that time what would you guys give I mean some of you guys are older and that's awesome I love having an older crowd in my audience and cuz you guys can relate you know your kids grow up they move away and have you ever thought about what would you do if you could just spend a week with them back when they were young and I was talking with God about it and I'm like God I really miss my kids I got that big giant house over there and you know it's just going to be me and the wife in it and what is that going to be like and God actually answered me and he's like well I can give you what you want but I can't give you exactly your kids back and he gave me two brand new babies and they are amazing I mean it's so it is so awesome to have babies back in the house to be able to uh spend time with them to watch them grow and to have the wisdom as a parent that's already done it now he didn't say that it was going to be Flawless and I'll tell you it's straight up chaos in my house it is chaos so many nights out of the week I can't even tell you um he he didn't say it was going to be smooth but he did say that I was going to have a chance to do this and I just instead of me looking at this situation like oh this is so tough and you know what am I going to how am I going to make it through I look at it like a blessing because it is will this start be a blessing if this starts come on baby [Laughter] come on girl yep all right baby all right Dan the man you wanted equipment sounds oh what did I just do talking to Dan and I screw things up see I'm polish you can only do so many things simultaneously and then your brain gets maxed out I'm hiding my Cod cuz some of you guys come over to my house and try to take my stuff not that's the was looking for know why we have the parking brake on it's not like and I were like this oh first time I moved in my property line goes over there so I start I just mistakenly started mowing it he's like it's not the right property line and you can't be over here and I'm like and we started we just got off on the wrong foot and for about 20 years we stayed on the wrong foot and I had a revelation and we and it came after a big blowout I mean a big freaking blowout when I was putting this driveway in he comes over and he goes you put that driveway in there we're going to have a lot suit so I popped up the camera and I shoved it in his face and I'm like say it again say that to me again and everything started to change he became civil out of nowhere and when he became civil I became more civil cuz I never wanted to have a problem with him in the first place uh I actually plowed his driveway and I got yelled at uh I guess I was plowing his driveway trying to help out and I got yelled at but that doesn't mean give up on a person okay um so after this big blowout of doing this driveway he calmed down and I calm down you know and I had this moment this aha moment where I'm like do you know why him and I probably don't get along because we think too much alike let me ask you guys something would it be a perfect world if you could run a company filled with just you like exact duplicates or clones of yourself and I was like no effing way if I had to work with a bunch of mes all the time I couldn't do it I'm I'm there's just too many things wrong right couldn't do it I need the balance I need people that balance me out when I look at a guy like that he's protecting his property he's willing to go to bat for his property and there is nothing nothing wrong with that those are respectful things and I'm like holy crap that's like a 10year older version of me I can't be angry with him he's doing everything that I would want a person to do so I walked over one day he was working on something like let me give you a hand with that and I'll go over there and I'll help him out in any way shape or form and you ask me about him I think he's a pretty okay fell you I just got to refrain my thinking that's it it's all I got to do is retwist your thinking and wow you can make any situation a completely different version completely different I like to eat eat eat apples and bananas I like to eat eat eat apples and [Music] bananas I cannot help be slow come on baby oh yeah Hydraulics are not wanting to cold and stubborn cold and stubborn yeah I bet I could just use my blade and scrape through that what do you think you think so all right better than a skid loader would do it that's been my my experience is it peels it up better than a skin load giving me some problems boys come on baby grab and push that's what she just got warm right now like warm enough where it let me do everything I wanted to do all my Hydraulics are working everything is working properly now but no big deal that scraping is doing pretty good good and I almost just fell straight on my butt all right let's move to Frankford this truck and keep this show going looking good much better than having inch and a half 2 Ines of ice to deal with now we're on dirt we can get in and out move around swe that's it for this video it was awesome having you guys go along for the ride still got some more to clean up but that's life in Minnesota what is it like where
