I Tried To Install Artificial Turf With No Experience

What happens here

The host concludes the project, reflecting on the final appearance of the artificial turf walkway. He acknowledges that the patchwork result, with mismatched turf pieces and colors, is not ideal and feels like a 'Frankenstein' creation. He expresses disappointment, calling the project a 'fail' due to misjudging the required turf quantity and the difficulty of seamlessly blending different batches. He emphasizes the lesson learned: always purchase a single, large roll of turf to ensure uniformity. Despite the aesthetic shortcomings, he suggests that the experience provided valuable lessons for future projects.

this infill. >> All right, I'll be completely honest with you. I failed on this project and I failed miserably and it's 100% my fault. You know, we've built a lot of really cool stuff on this channel. Stuff that I'm really proud to show off. And this is a project that ultimately I'm embarrassed about to be honest with you. You know, the saying on the channel is courage and sweat, right? You need the courage to try these intimidating things. Like this is the first time I've done a project like this. But you also got to go through the sweat and I'm pretty good at the sweat part, the hard work. The courage part is okay, but then the in between, the knowledge. It's okay, it's my house. I could I could fix this later. So, what I'm going to end up doing is ripping all this out probably next spring and then just buying one giant roll and doing it right, I guess the second time. But I did learn a lot of lessons and let me just pass some to you. Number one, yes, buy yourself a large a roll. Make sure you don't have more than maybe one seam. I think we could have definitely put something like this, that way this will be one giant one and then this will be the other part, but one seam or no seams is even better. Number two, I think our prep work, foundation, everything was great. I did though learn that these nails, though they work better than staples cuz staples bend if you hit one of those rocks down below, get yourself a thinner head on this nail, but other than that I think these work a little bit better than these. Number three, the type of turf that you end up using, even though you get it lifted with the power brush broom, it still gets plugged down, but I don't know, maybe when the sun hits it it'll stand up. Um, but yeah, those are the things that I've learned. I hope you take something away from it. It's not a complete dud of a video cuz I think I've learned something that I'll be better at the next time. Um, and maybe you've learned certain things to avoid the mistakes. I think I just realized I what I thought on this stupidity of patching it up is kind of like laying sod down in your backyard. You can put patches like this and after a season it all grows in, but you can't do that with artificial turf. Well, that is for me. Hope you guys enjoyed this video. Um, I'll see you guys in the next one and in the meantime, here's a video I think you might enjoy.
