>> [laughter] >> that's amazing. [snorts] Behind me is one of the most messiest and chaotic garages on this face of the planet. Holy smokes, what going on in here? And in today's video, we're not only going to organize it, but we're going to turn it into an absolute dream garage that anybody would love to have. Let's get into it. Oh, you weren't kidding, dude. What is this? Oh, this is nuts, dude. You weren't kidding. Wow. Dude, this reminds me of my dad's house, by the way. My dad always keeps everything that he's ever had all the time, cuz he'll go like, "Oh, maybe I'll build something later." All right, this is a bigger mess than I was expecting, but uh first things first, before we can plan anything about this, we got to get ourselves a blank canvas. Let's get some of this stuff out of here. I think this thing is still plugged into something. Oh, no, it's not. >> What do you think? Woo, I think we bit off a lot more than we could chew here, but uh this is going to be exciting. Yeah. By the way, guys, this is Tanner. He's a buddy of mine. You've probably seen him on the channel before. He's ran some of the heavy equipment on the cabin. He's helped me a ton on the project. And when Tanner reached out to me and said that his parents have an absolute chaotic garage, as you could see, I knew that we could do something about it, and here we are today making sure that his parents [music] get the most dreamy garage possible. This is going to be exciting. It's going to be great. >> Yeah. What made you reach out to me and [music] give your parents this transformation, Tanner? Uh well, my parents are very hard working. Uh my dad works full-time. My mom runs the hospital out in Emmett. And they're just super busy. Um they love being with family, going outdoors, doing outdoorsy stuff. And they just don't They just need some help, you know, getting things organized. You know, they help take care of us kids and make sure that we're all, you know, super aligned. So. Sweet. Awesome, man. Well, we're going to make sure that we're going to give your parents >> [music] >> a dream garage that I actually, you know, maybe even hang out in here, too. You want to do that? >> Done. This is going to be the craziest transformation we've ever had on this channel. All right, Tanner. So, what do we got going on over here? This looks like a pantry, but it's in the garage. Yeah, they just run out of room on the inside. So, my mom just kind of stores all of her stuff here. So, definitely uh have to do something. Yeah, we'll do something to organize it. The A lot of houses don't have giant enormous pantries. And so, this is definitely a functional space from the inside of the house. So, we'll make sure we'll set your mom up with like a really solid setup here. And then I see your dad's got some stuff on that corner. Is that an engine block? >> Yeah. Yeah, that's a story. He's had that thing for like 10 years. Won't get rid of it. My mom's trying to talk him out of it, but >> Really? he just wants it. I get it, man. He's attached to it. Yeah. No, he can't get back there at all. No room. No room? >> No room. Do you think he would work back there if he had [snorts] room for it? Yeah. Yeah, oh yeah. He'd definitely be able to tinker on old stuff, side-by-side stuff. Well, he's got tools opened up right now. So, you know he would like to work on something, but uh maybe who knows? Maybe he'll finish that engine block if he actually has some room. >> [laughter] >> All right. Well, cool, man. Uh we'll make sure it's functional. We'll draft up draft up a really good plan to uh get this thing looking like a Parade of Homes garage. 1 2 3 go. The oil that was not closed Well, we're definitely going to have to do epoxy flooring. >> [laughter] >> That's hilarious. It wasn't even locked or closed. Your dad's like, "That's good oil." That's [laughter] good oil. I'm going to use the serag. I don't want to bring it down the driveway. Yeah, use whatever, man. And then, I'm sure the rest of these 7 gallons are full of oil, too. He's been meaning to take it to O'Reilly's, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm going to give him so much about it. I'm actually having a lot of fun doing this only because I love like watching what kind of stuff people have. All this stuff is it's not trash. It's like cool stuff. But, it's just always like a like a scavenger hunt. You're like, "Oh, cool." Like, I found a Starlink antenna, which is super sick. >> You never know when you need a picnic table. Strong like bull. You've [snorts] been looking for these? Here's your little bedazzled license plate frames. Put them on your car. My truck. This is the crown and jewel. This is definitely mom's stuff. Cuz they always want to save a gift bag, wrapping paper, cuz you never know when you're going to need it. And this is universal. My wife does this. My mother-in-law does this. My mother does this. It's a tale as old as time. When do you think the last time this garage was cleaned out? Uh well, they've touched up the floor. It's never I don't think these stuff have came off the shelf since they moved in here. How long have they been living here? Uh Since right after his dad passed away. >> Yeah, like 4 years. 4 years now? Yeah, 4 or 5 years. Well, I know nothing was touched here because this is barricaded with uh a What is it, like a mobile bench? Like a picnic bench? >> Yeah. Like it was folded. >> [laughter] >> Like barricaded, like We got crazy amount of momentum. Got a lot of the stuff out. They're getting a dump trailer and going to load in all the little stuff uh that they're going to let go uh to create more room for the new stuff. I have a lot of cool ideas here. A couple of non-negotiables is we need some kind of pantry solution for Mom. Uh I definitely want to do a cool epoxy floors. I got to give them a brand new cool wall set up here where the drywall's finished, it's textured, it's painted, new lights, new cabinets, new shelving, a whole lot of new stuff. Once they get all this stuff cleared out, tomorrow we're going to come hit it really hard with all the drywall work. See you in the morning. >> [snorts] >> Well, we got ourselves a blank canvas. Uh here's the thing, there's still a bunch of debris and dust and staining on the windows and the drywall. So, I'm going to grab my pressure washer, give this thing a nice thorough cleaning, and then today we're going to start focusing on repairing all the drywall. And I also just noticed that when they did mud uh or tape the seams up there, they only just did a tape knife. They didn't float it or anything, so we're going to have to do quite a bit of drywall to get this thing up to par. But, if we play our cards right, my goal goal I don't know why I'm st- stuttering my speech. My goal for today is to be be to shoot texture by in the day. Let's get after it. >> So, we got a little droopy ceiling drywall. I wonder what happened when they installed this attic ladder that brings down. Throw in a couple of drywall screws. Hopefully, it should work in place. There we go. Found it. So, we're going to do this transition here. I think the best possible solution here is to just put like a 1 by 3 trim all the way around it. Um I think it's not as recessed as much as it should be um to make it look pretty to put drywall over this. So, we'll just have to kind of polish it up as much as we can. I got all the holes and all the drywall repaired. I used like 45-minute mud. It's stuff is heat activated very quickly. I got a heater running in there, so it's drying very rapidly. Because those holes are big, it's it's a nice option to go with that kind of repair. But, I also picked up about 10 bags or boxes of drywall mud. We're going to start mixing it up. And I need to float all of the seams out here. And unfortunately, the builders originally when they built this, they they didn't do a good job mudding all the seams. The way I know that [snorts] is because the ceiling, the cracking on it, is because the tape on it was like a quarter inch overlapping the seam. So, not the best on there. Everywhere looks fine, but it's kind of chunky. So, what I think I'll do is I'll give it a quick sand just light enough, and then we'll start floating everything with like, you know, drywall knife probably this big. I love the smell of mud early in the morning. That was my Russian accent, which I'm Russian and I just did a terrible one. Let me try it again. Yuri loves the smell No. Yuri loves Yuri loves the smell of mud. I don't know how to do a Russian accent being Russian, bilingual, suck at it. But, the mud is good. Even though this stuff is pre-mixed and it looks like it's ready, all the best stuff is in the bottom. So, we got to bring it to the top. So, you want to definitely mix it up. I'm starting to regret taking on this project. The drywall part is an absolute That's actually the only part of any kind of remodel that I hate is doing mud work. But, steady on, keep going. I'm going through like the feelings of I'm hungry, I'm sore, I'm sweating, and I'm hot. Just a whirlwind of emotions that we're going through right now. >> [snorts] >> That's what drywall will make you do. It's basically menopause, I guess. Is that what menopause is? Got to Google what menopause is. >> Okay guys, this is the last time I will ever sand drywall mud. Uh I'm vouching for it. Um I need you guys' recommendation. I want to find an electric uh sander for drywall, but I want to make sure that it's not too expensive. So, if you know a budget option, I know Ryobi doesn't make one yet. Yet, but if you guys have one, uh something that's not like more than couple hundred bucks, let me know cuz I definitely need to get one. I'm not doing this again. I'm really not. All right, it's go time. It's go go go time. I got my hopper here. I got my air compressor there. I mixed up my mud that to consistency of like a melted milkshake. So, whatever you think your melted milkshake looks like, that's what it is. Then we're going to start spraying it, and we're going to work it in a circular pattern. It's going to get ugly before it gets pretty, but in the morning, it's going to look incredible, right? Let's get to work. >> It's the next day and I'm absolutely spent. My back is sore, my deltoids are crushed. I forgot to pack my lunch, didn't have breakfast, didn't get home till like 7:00, so had like one meal, blood sugar's low, but we got it done. It looks freaking awesome. It was a long day and I'm glad that we're ahead of schedule. But today is primer and paint day and uh just with my luck, something bad already happened. And it's a 1,000% my fault. If you look in here, this is my old paint sprayer. Now, you probably remember the last time I used this, if you're an OG fan of the channel, when we did the A-frame cabin and I stained all the cedar last uh summer. That puppy came in clutch. Well, I'm an idiot and I didn't clean it out as well as I should have with paint thinner and so the motor is seized. Yay me. Stupid idiot. But the good thing is I do have a backup sprayer. It's not ideal for this situation, but it's way better than rolling. Let me show you what we got. I got 5 gallons of primer, 5 gallons of paint using my Wagner uh airless 130. This thing has always been clutch anytime I did any kind of cabinet paint. It's awesome cuz you just dump a whole gallon in here and start painting. Unfortunately, instead of me dropping a hose right into a 5-gallon bucket and just spraying away like most bare sprayers are, with this I'm going to have to uh take my medicine and constantly refill this thing. But, again, count my blessing. We're not rolling, we're not brushing, we're spraying. Let's get into it. The primer's going on really well. I can't tell you how appreciative you are about spraying something as opposed to rolling it. It's the biggest blessing in the world. Now, I did want to talk something about when it comes to tackling projects, you guys might be going through the same process of intimidation, right? You're like, "I'm intimidated. Like, oh my gosh, we have to take everything out of the garage. Where are we going to put that stuff? And oh my god, it's an entire two-car garage of drywall work you're going to have to do." And and all this stuff goes through my head as well. I've been doing this for 10 years on YouTube, remodeling, transforming spaces, and believe it or not, every single project I still get into my head with some anxiety, worry, uh matter of like no clarity on things. Uh I think the word is lack of clarity. That's the word I wanted to use. But at the end of the day, what I've learned is just you bite it one at a time. That's how you eat an elephant. Just one step at a time. Yesterday's step was do the drywall, patch up all the seams. Today is hey, now spray. And all of a sudden things become a little bit more clear and a little bit more digestible, if you will. So, remember, that feeling never goes away. It'll always be there. Just put one foot forward, next thing you know, you're on top of the mountain. So, this is how we've been going in and out just because we're trying to keep the surprise from the folks that's living here. But it's working so far. Now, I have a secret to tell you guys of how I maintain my energy. And the way I do it is the way I do it every freaking day. And that is with AG1 next gen. You see, AG1 next gen is a daily nutritional health drink that has 75-plus vitamins, minerals, superfoods, probiotics. It's got everything that keeps my life very simple and organized that I don't have to have a bunch of bottles to put into my supplements. I am always on the go. Sometimes I'm lucky if I can get breakfast. And so, to have something that's simplified is important. Now, the reason I personally love drinking AG1 as part of my daily health routine is because, number one, it helps with digestion, bloating, a bunch of foods that we eat, this helps me with that. And number two, and this is the part that you've guys seen, is [music] my energy levels. They truly are riding at 10 out of 10 all the time, and I have to keep it that way. So, so, by [music] putting a scoop of AG1 into 8 to 12 oz of water, I even put a little couple of droplets of vitamin D3 and K2, shake it up. Cheers. And just like that, I'm ready to get back to work. And to the viewers of my channel, they're offering an incredible deal. When you use my link in the description below, you'll get a free AG1 flavor sampler and a free bottle of vitamin D3 plus K2, all for free with your first AG1 subscription. Now, let's get back to this video. Paint and primer are all on and drying. Got my diesel heater making sure everything is drying accordingly. So, what I just did is I hit up my friends at Tait Ren, and they hooked me up with a concrete grinder or concrete resurfacer. Now, why? Well, because tomorrow we're planning to do epoxy flooring. And over the years of doing different types of epoxy flooring, I've realized if you really want to do it right, >> [music] >> you have to resurface it. There's oil stains, all this other junk that's stuck in the pores of your concrete that you want to make sure it's nice and clean. And that is what we're going to accomplish with this resurfacer and vacuum. >> [snorts] >> Oh, this this is a heavy Oh, she's a heavy girl. Oh, Oh. Did Did hear that panic? That came straight from the diaphragm. >> [laughter] >> She's a big girl, man. But she gets it done, huh? They gave me this uh uh the grinding discs. They look like brake pads, to be honest with you, but they're obviously they're diamond coated. And then this is a plate that goes underneath that. Here's the sketchy part. These all get magnetized to this plate, different grits. And they told me that if I get onto a corner or a seam, it could catch it in the wrong way and send this plate flying across the room. I asked them, "What's the best approach?" They said, "Just try to go head-on." Hopefully we're careful. Hopefully we won't do anything bad to damage the tool and not hurt ourselves. It's not a It's not a day on the channel here if we're not doing something shady. Have you ever used one of these before? I've used it once at uh the concrete slab house series, about three houses ago, two houses ago. Um the entire floor was a slab-on-grade, so everything was just concrete. No basement, and it had tile over it. So once we popped all the tile off, we needed to get a smooth finish to put laminate flooring on. So we had to rent one of these, and I didn't have any seams, so I didn't have any problems. We got some seams here, but we're going to make sure there's no problems. >> So, this thing is like walking a pit bull. Uh only issue I'm having is the parts that it's wet because I was cleaning up some of the mud, um it's not working that well. So, uh but I'm also going to try to replace some of these uh pads. So, something a little bit more coarse. I was trying to go with the lightest and then go to the heaviest. So, working our way up. >> All right, progress report. This thing That's my AirPod. This [snorts] thing is working like a beast. It feels like a pit bull taking you for a walk. Um this lever does go down, but it's so much more control when the lever is up. It's working way better on dry concrete. As you can see, it's it's getting this fine dust on top of it as opposed to the wet stuff. What I'm going to do cuz literally I'm going to get this thing dead perfect. I'm going to get a hose, clean all this mud out of here, get it all out of here, give this one more pass. It'll probably be even like a polishing feel. And then we'll see how clean we really got this. And then we'll get ready for the epoxy, which it's going to look freaking incredible. So, we're running into a little problem. Uh the surface grinder is not doing its job. And I think I think I figured out what it is. So, one of the issues is it was just creating these little swirl marks and as you can see the concrete is still ugly. And I was using a light duty cable. This is the green one as you know they're from my Christmas lights and stuff like that. Does not do a lot of power. I figured this machine's big and we need more power specifically more amps. So, I went ahead and I picked up my heavy duty cable. I think this is a 12 gauge cable. So, we're going to give it a try. Hopefully it does a better job. I also switched the pads to something a little more aggressive and cuz I think the ones I was using was polished. And the problem I knew was happening is not only because the concrete wasn't resurfacing but I also had a bunch of the mud that was textured and it's oversprayed onto the ground. It created like a slippery surface which was hell to get out. But I pressure washed a ton of it off. So, here's another go. >> It's safe to say it worked. It worked flawlessly. That looks like a vape convention that's going on right now. And we're throwing some dank vape smoke bombs. >> [snorts] >> We're going to let that clean out, make sure everything's squeaky clean, and then we'll start with this epoxy. Trying to be resourceful. That's one way to clean up after a dusty day. Epoxy time. Here's the product that we're using. I got it from Home Depot. I think I paid 160 bucks. It's for two and a half car garage. Here's the kicker. If you don't look at different variations, there's some products that are like three, some are $600. So, uh I think this is just an older model. There's They're coming out with new stuff, so that's maybe it's discounted. But, we'll need a 3/8 inch uh lint-free roller. I went with a bigger one, bigger tub, just so we can cover more stuff. We'll need a brush, and then everything else is inside. And if you've never done epoxy flooring,…
