Install New Lithium Battery and Accessories

What happens here

The new Temgo LiFePO4 battery is placed into the now clean battery tray. A test fit is performed to ensure it slides in easily with room to spare. The battery is positioned so that its terminals face the same direction as the existing main cables for clean wire routing. The provided retention strap is then used to securely fasten the battery. The strap goes over the top of the battery, through the factory tie-down points in the tray, and is ratcheted down snugly (not crushing it, but firm enough to prevent movement). Next, the two main battery cables (previously connected to the old battery bank) are connected to the new lithium battery's terminals. The positive cable goes to the positive (+) terminal, and the negative cable goes to the negative (-) terminal. Both are torqued to the manufacturer's specification (around 15 Nm), with a warning not to over-tighten, as lithium battery terminals are softer than lead-acid posts and can strip easily. Finally, the smart charger is installed into the golf cart's electrical system, and the LCD display is mounted on the dash where it can be easily seen while driving. A single cable from the display runs back and plugs into a dedicated port on the battery, making it a plug-and-play installation.
