Connect and Test the Electric Fence Controller

What happens here
The farmer connects the StarcLine electric fence controller to the EverStart car battery, ensuring the positive (red) clamp is attached to the positive terminal and the negative (black) clamp to the negative terminal. He then hooks the controller onto the permanent perimeter fence wire using a simple metal hook. He demonstrates testing the fence by briefly touching the wire with a metal object, which produces an audible 'pop' and confirms the fence is live. He also shares a valuable tip: old car batteries, no longer powerful enough to start a vehicle, can still effectively power electric fences for weeks on end, extending their utility.
Goal: Energize and confirm the functionality of the electric fence system.
Tools and materials
