I can't think of a better use case to show how versatile helical piles are!

What happens here

Once the first helical pile is positioned, an extension piece is added to the top of the pile to achieve the required depth for adequate structural support. The hydraulic power unit (likely a mini excavator, as seen in the video) is then activated. The team members operating the driver maintain firm control and apply downward pressure as the helical pile is hydraulically screwed into the ground. A pressure gauge on the hydraulic system is monitored to ensure the pile is reaching the specified torque requirements, indicating it has achieved the necessary bearing capacity.

Goal: Screw the first helical pile to the required depth and bearing capacity.

Tools and materials

  • Helical Pile Driver Assembly — Driving the helical pile
  • Helical Pile Extension — Increasing the length of the helical pile to reach design depth
  • Hydraulic Power Unit — Providing hydraulic power to the driver
  • Pressure Gauge — Monitoring the torque and bearing capacity of the helical pile
