Begin by positioning a joist hanger against the ledger board, ensuring it is correctly aligned with the intended placement of the wooden joist. Use a hammer to drive nails through the pre-drilled holes in the joist hanger to securely fasten it to the ledger board. Once the hanger is attached, lift a wooden joist and carefully slide it into the joist hanger. Finally, drive additional nails through the remaining holes in the joist hanger to firmly connect the joist to the hanger and, by extension, to the ledger board.
Goal: Secure a joist to the ledger board using a joist hanger.
