How To Water Your Newly Planted Shrubs
What happens here
When watering, direct the steady stream of water around the edge of the plant, focusing on the soil. For a plant similar to a Hosta, water for approximately 15-20 seconds. Avoid spraying water directly onto the foliage to prevent diseases. After watering one plant, move on to the next, and if the weather is particularly hot, or the plant needs a deeper soak, return to previously watered plants for a second application. For medium-sized shrubs like hydrangeas or boxwoods, water for about 30 seconds to a minute, again depending on water pressure and current weather conditions.
Goal: Apply water directly to the root zone of small and medium plants.
