Mix Thin-set Mortar

What happens here

Prepare the thin-set mortar. The video uses Custom brand Natural Stone & Large Tile thin-set, which is polymer-modified for extra strength. Pour the dry thin-set into a clean mixing bucket. Add water according to the manufacturer's instructions, then use a drill with a mixer attachment to thoroughly combine until it reaches a consistent, lump-free paste. The presenter recommends mixing for about 5 minutes, letting it 'slake' (rest) for 5-10 minutes to allow all particles to absorb water, and then mixing again for a minute or two to ensure proper consistency.
