How to sharpen all your DRILL BITS in Minutes!
What happens here
After sharpening the main cutting edges, a split point can be added to the drill bit for enhanced performance. To do this, remove the chuck from the 'sharpen' port. Rotate the chuck's outer ring to adjust the bit's position for the split point grinding. Insert the chuck into the dedicated 'split point' port on the side of the Drill Doctor 750X. Engage the sharpener and rotate the chuck with a few half-turns, applying light pressure. Repeat the process for the other side by rotating the chuck 180 degrees. This creates a small, secondary cutting edge at the very tip, which helps the drill bit penetrate materials more effectively and reduces 'walking' or wandering when starting a hole.
Goal: Improve drilling stability and penetration by adding a split point to the drill bit.
