How to Replace a Old Toilet Shut Off Valve...RIGHT TOOLS FOR THE JOB!!

What happens here

Select a braided flexible supply line of appropriate length (e.g., 12 or 18 inches, as shorter lengths might require careful bending). Connect one end of the flexible supply line to the new ball valve and the other end to the toilet fill valve. For the connection to the toilet fill valve, hand-tighten the plastic nut. For the connection to the metal ball valve, hand-tighten the nut and then give it an additional quarter-turn with an adjustable wrench. The host notes that he usually just hand-tightens the fill valve connection. Once both ends are securely connected, you're ready to restore water.

Goal: Attach the new braided flexible supply line between the ball valve and the toilet.

that too but for today we're going to go with this toilet by 3 8 flexible supply line this is a braided flex supply line they make kind of plastic flex supply lines but this actually is braided stainless steel over hose and these things work awesome so i just like to connect it on the bottom so the actual connection is pretty short so we're actually just going to go ahead we're going to make a little twist in it make it look a little fancy i guess you can buy these hoses in different lengths i typically just buy 12s and 18s though so and this right here is like a uh six or a seven inch gap differential so you're gonna have to do something with it on the top one i go hand tight all right with the bottom one you can grab your you know this is the bottom part of the one stop wrench you could grab that that'll go on here and that'll do that or if you don't have one of these well then grab a little adjustable jaw you know it's typically why i have this little stubby with me all the time is for little tight spaces exactly like this and you're able to just go ahead and hook this back up okay so with this you just want to go hand tight and then plus a quarter turn right and the same thing here i actually just go hand tight that usually has been very good for me you could snug it up a little bit more if you wanted to but you're not going to need to man hand tight is going to be great right here
