Hey folks, that's a guy here working right after work today. My friend is, as you can see, ripping out a bathroom, right? Doing a lot of this product himself, but he said, hey man, I don't have to get this tub out. So I'm going to show you how to do it. I'm going to show him how to do it. And we'll get this taken care of. We're using a dumbbell today. This dumbbell, not this kind of dumbbell. This is a plumbing dumbbell. So come along. Let's get to fixing. Okay, so let's pop this bad boy off you here and see what we're looking at today. I actually don't have a clue if my tool is going to work or not. Because if the dumbbell is actually going to work, this is going to be awesome, right? These things are super nice. They usually work pretty well. And older drains sometimes they snap off. In this case, it really doesn't matter. But it is a lot nicer when this thing works. So this train has a Phillips screw. It's actually got a strainer on top of it holding it down. So we just want to get that out of there. Okay, well, that doesn't want to come out. Perfect. It's always something man. Always something with plumbing. There we go. Got that bad boy out of there. Definitely a little rusted up. Ew, don't want to do that. So if you get down in here, you can see that little cross right there. My tool should fit perfectly on that. And I should just be able to go counter clockwise and pop this bad boy right out. Okay, so then you just want to find which side fits down in there. Me, it looks like it's the smaller side. And it is. So then this is going to be really simple. You've got a couple things you want to do here. Either you take the screwdriver and you put it through there or you can take the screwdriver and put it through the top or you grab another tool and do it, right? They make this pretty versatile. You can actually take a and adjustable jaw as well and slap it on here. But I actually like the screwdriver method. I actually like the screwdriver method for this because it's more like a tea handle. I get leverage on both sides with this way, right? So if I put this right in here and I get this right here, well, I'm able to grab leverage on both sides. Oh, and that is definitely being a bear. But having leverage on both sides works really nice. All right. I'll have to finagle around this tub. Now we've got to move it around just a little bit. Because I got to be able to get in here. So make way. Big guy coming through. All right. And now we'll try to get a little bit more leverage on this thing. There we go. So now we're getting it out, right? You can feel that bud. Once that bud is no big deal. Then you can just however you do it to make it happen, right? Like I said, screwdriver is my preferred method. I like being able to get leverage on both sides. Okay. And so now that we've got that going, now we can just twist this out of here. Well, and that part is off, right? You can see there's some movement right there. We don't have to worry about that thing. That's out. We only have one more thing to do before we remove the tub. Okay. So now we come up to the waist and overflow plate, right? And once again, it's still Phillips screwdriver. Get that popped out. Get that out of there. Oh, look at that silicone job. This bad boy definitely leaked at one point. All right. Let's zoom in on that. You want to know how this leak? I can tell because there is a gob and a half a silicone on that. Right? That's just the that's just a gasket. But there's silicone all around it. That just means we had a leak. So you just separate that right there and your tub's ready to come out. All right. So as you can see, I'm in a football jersey. I had to come home, watch some Monday night football. All right. I did not get the tub taken out. But that wasn't the point of the video anyway. The point of the video was to show you this bad boy and taking out the tub drain, right? Super simple to get that taken out. When this thing works, it works really well. If you have a problem and that cross actually breaks out and you can't get this to work for you, well, I'll put a link in the description box below of a different video that I have for another set of tools because sometimes that cross breaks or it's already broken and you can't use this so you've got to use another tool. I really hope you guys enjoyed the video. If you could please subscribe to the channel, click the like button. We'd love to have you keep coming back.
