How to Prep Textured Walls for Painting: 3 Tips Making Stucco & Brick Look New!

What happens here

Once the expanding foam has fully dried and hardened (which can be relatively quick, especially on warm surfaces), use a utility knife or a sharp scraper to carefully trim off any excess foam that protrudes from the wall. The goal is to make the foam surface flat and even with the surrounding wall, or slightly recessed, to create a smooth base for subsequent patching.

Goal: Carefully trim the dried expanding foam to be flush with the wall surface, preparing it for a final patch layer.
