How to Prep Textured Walls for Painting: 3 Tips Making Stucco & Brick Look New!

What happens here

Once anchors are trimmed, you have two options for patching the remaining small holes: 1. **DAP Stucco Patch**: Apply the all-purpose stucco patch using a flexible spackle knife. Spread it evenly over the hole, ensuring it blends with the existing wall texture. 2. **Elastomeric Textured Caulk**: Use a caulk gun to apply the textured caulk directly into the hole. Smooth it with a gloved finger to mimic the natural texture of the block or stucco. This is particularly useful for maintaining the aesthetic of a textured wall.

Goal: Cover the small holes left by trimmed plastic anchors using either a stucco patch compound or textured elastomeric caulk for a blended finish.
