How to paint a colored accent wall. Home Improvement painting tips.

What happens here

After the initial overlapping color has dried (approximately 2 hours), run 1-inch painter's tape along the edge where the accent color will meet the existing wall color. To prevent paint bleed under the tape, apply a bead of clear caulk along the entire length of the tape's edge that will be painted against. The caulk creates a seal, ensuring a crisp line. It is crucial to work quickly after this step to begin painting the accent color.

Goal: Prepare taped edges to prevent paint bleed for sharp accent lines.
