How to Mask Exterior Windows in the Wind in Under 1 Minute!

What happens here

Given the wind direction, identify the side of the window where the wind is coming from. Begin by tacking down the tape along this leading vertical edge, working your way down the window frame. This initial securement prevents the wind from catching and tearing the plastic film as you continue masking. The wind will help carry the loose plastic away from the window, making it easier to manage.

Goal: The painter secures the side of the masking film that faces the incoming wind first, working downwards to ensure the film remains taut and sealed.

patience and i am using delicate frog tape because i just sprayed these metal windows yesterday and i don't want to peel off the paint so i use delicate frog tape and the winds blow in this direction so i want to seal off this edge first and i'm going to just tack it off here and start working my way down here just tack it off down towards the bottom and the wind will carry it the plastic that direction so now i've got it sealed off that direction
