HOW TO INSTALL A TESLA WALL CONNECTOR UNIVERSAL IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES!

What happens here

The electrician inserts a 3/4 inch Romex connector into a knockout at the top of the electrical panel and guides the 6/2 Romex wire through it. He then uses a razor knife to carefully strip the outer jacket of the Romex wire, exposing the individual conductors: one black hot wire, one white neutral wire, and one bare copper ground wire. For a 240-volt EV charger, the white neutral wire must be re-identified as a hot wire by wrapping it with black electrical tape at both ends. He then strips the insulation from the ends of the two hot wires and the ground wire using wire strippers. The bare copper ground wire is connected to the ground bar inside the panel. Finally, the two hot wires (one black, one re-identified black) are landed onto a new 50 amp double-pole circuit breaker, which is then securely installed in the electrical panel.

Goal: Securely connect the 6/2 Romex wire to the electrical panel with a new 50 amp double-pole circuit breaker.

Tools and materials

  • 3/4 inch Romex Connector — Securing the Romex cable to the electrical panel enclosure
  • Flat Head Screwdriver — Tightening the clamp on the Romex connector
  • Lineman's Pliers — Cutting and manipulating heavy gauge Romex wire
  • Razor Knife — Carefully stripping the outer jacket from the Romex wire
  • Wire Strippers — Stripping insulation from the individual electrical conductors
  • Electrical Tape — Re-identifying the white neutral wire as a hot conductor

with one person. And the connector is already on. And I am now tightening the 3/4in ROMX connector with my flathead screwdriver. I'm shortly going to start. Yes, I'm going to use my alignmentsman's. You know, this is the classic tightening the lock ring, right? So, if you're seriously thinking about becoming an electrician and you got heavy cable like this, this is a 62 wire for an EV charger. Don't use diagonal cutters. Use this. your risks are going to go out in like couple years and you won't be able to do any work. And we're not in this game for the short game. We're in it for the long game. You should use this just like that. Everything's going AI. Everything's going electric. Let's get that chained. All right, guys. That was just a quick little tip. Um I posted that actually on Instagram if you guys want to follow me at Hendy the Sparky. And now we're back at it. So here guys, I am now stripping the ROMX wire. And I use my razor knife to get the jacket off. And in this wire, guys, there is one black hot wire. Um, one white neutral wire and one ground wire. However, since this is a 240 volt EV charger, that white wire that's supposed to be in neutral, we're going to tape it black and we're going to put it on a 240 volt double pole circuit breaker. And right now I'm actually stripping the wires. I landed the copper ground on the ground bar. And we are now we just taped the white wire black. And I'm now unscrewing the terminals on the screwdriver. Oh no, on the circuit breaker. My bad. And I am now landing in the circuit breaker. Just like that. And you want to make sure wires are nice and neat because we're electricians, guys.
