HOW TO FIX CEILING CRACKS. Drywall repair hacks & sheetrock repair tips

What happens here

After allowing the caulk to dry for approximately one hour, begin the spackling process. Apply Crawford's Vinyl Spackling Paste over the caulked crack using a spackle knife. The goal is to blend the spackling into the existing ceiling texture. For a ceiling with a "flat hand texture," the spackling should be smoothed and flattened as much as possible to match the surrounding surface. Pay attention to any deeper spots in the crack and ensure they are adequately filled. If your ceiling has an "orange peel" texture, you will need to spray texture instead of applying spackle.

Goal: Cover the crack with spackling paste and blend it with the ceiling texture.

Now, I know this isn't the best camera shot in the world, but it's way up here on the ceiling. So, just do the best I can. So, now I got my uh spackling vinyl spackling paste. Now, I'm just going to start going over this crack. And I can just start, you know, blending it in. I can see what the texture is on my ceiling. I'm just going to try to just, you know, flatten this out and just uh just try to hide that crack the best I can. And then when this spackling uh dries, then we'll just lightly sand it. And then then we'll take and um paint our ceiling. Just going to do it in some certain places just to attempt to hide it. Here you can see some cracks that are some of the spots that are kind of a little bit deep. And so I'm going to just try to fill those in. This is a hand textured ceiling and so I'm just trying to find the flat spots and in the flat spots in the texture.
