What happens here

This project details the process of converting a traditional wood-framed deck into a stone patio using the StoneDeks Silca System. The conversion involves preparing the existing timber frame for stability and proper drainage, applying a protective joist tape, installing a hexagonal grid system (SilcaGrid) for paver support, adding a sound-deadening rubber underlayment (SilcaMat), and then laying porcelain pavers. Special attention is given to ensuring a perfectly level surface, proper tile orientation, and the use of flexible polymeric sand for joint filling to accommodate deck movement and prevent cracking.
