How to Build a Air Compressor on a Budget

What happens here

Connect a 3/8-inch, 6-inch galvanized pipe from the tank's air outlet to an air regulator and lubricator assembly. The regulator will manage the air pressure to the desired level for air tools (typically 90 PSI), while the lubricator will add oil to the air stream, essential for lubricating most pneumatic tools. The creator sourced these components from Harbor Freight during a 20% off sale. This setup ensures that clean, regulated, and lubricated air is supplied to your tools.

Goal: Provide regulated and lubricated air output for tools.

Tools and materials

  • 3/8-inch 6-inch Galvanized Pipe — Connecting the tank outlet to the regulator/lubricator
  • Air Lubricator Harbor Freight — Adding oil mist to the air stream for tool lubrication
  • Air Regulator Harbor Freight — Controlling output air pressure
  • Wrench Set — Tightening fittings

here. So, moving on. Talk about our regulator. So, this is just 3/8 6 in pipe galvanized. Bought this for five bucks. Then I went to Harbor Freight for their 20% off sale. And I picked up a regulator and lubricator. So this is going to regulate to our 90 PSI that most air tools require. I got to set it 100 now, but 90 PSI that [clears throat and cough] 90 PSI that most air tools require. This is our lubricator. It's under pressure, so I can't open it. But this is super nice. You just add in your oil right here, adjust your flow, and you can add oil right to your line. So, that's super nice. So, moving on, get down low here. See if we can get a couple pictures of
