How To Avoid Weeds In Pavers
What happens here
After compacting the subsoil, unroll and lay a geotextile fabric (also known as landscape fabric or weed barrier fabric) across the entire excavated area. This fabric serves as a crucial separator between the compacted subsoil and the base stone layer, preventing the stone from mixing with and sinking into the soil. It also acts as an additional barrier against weed growth from below. Overlap seams by at least 6-12 inches and extend the fabric slightly up the sides of the trench.
Goal: Separate subsoil from base stone and add a weed barrier
Tools and materials
- Utility Knife — Cutting the geotextile fabric to size
- Geotextile Fabric — Separating soil layers and acting as a weed barrier
