How Not to load a Trailer. Mistakes that lead to accidents.

What happens here

To correctly load the skid steer, first, ensure the truck is in neutral and a second person is holding the brake (or use the parking brake and wheel blocks on flat ground if alone). The heavy equipment should be driven onto the trailer so that the majority of its weight, specifically the engine compartment of the skid steer, is directly over the trailer's axles. This position ensures proper weight distribution, where the truck will squat slightly but not excessively, and the trailer's axles bear the primary load, allowing both the truck and trailer to work in unison for safe towing.

Goal: Achieve proper weight distribution by placing the load over the trailer axles.
