How Much Does it Cost To Raise and Butcher a Beef Cow?

What happens here

After dropping off the cattle, there is a waiting period of approximately 17 days for the butchering and processing to be completed. During this time, the farmer handles other farm tasks. Once the beef is ready, the farmer prepares for pickup by loading aluminum ramps onto the back of his pickup truck, which will be used for hauling other farm equipment on the return trip (e.g., an ATV for repair) and subsequently backing up to the butcher's loading dock.

Goal: Allow time for meat processing and prepare for its retrieval.
