how'd you get in the painting so I'm going to try to give you this short and condensed version of how I became or how I got into the painting trade so you know growing up I can remember as a 12 year old framing working in the construction trades with my father my father you know I think at a very young age you know kind of instilled it into me that I needed to go to college to become successful and so that's what I thought and So eventually graduated from high school and decided to join the military and became a Navy Seabee to help pay for college and went to college I went to college at Cal Poly Pomona I got a college degree in urban Regional planning and just timing to have it be at that time the economy was really bad and I couldn't get a job in that field in urban Regional planning my wife had just got pregnant with my very first child which is Brooke and so I started looking for other jobs outside of my major had one of my friends I grew up with childhood friends lived in Boise Idaho and I was living in California at the time and I came to Idaho got a job in law enforcement so I worked in law enforcement for you know somewhere about four to five years I decided to go back to college and get another college degree and computer networking and while I was in college started working in that field timing be it again economy got really bad as I was getting close to graduating from college and I couldn't even get a job in that field I was working in the tech industry a lot of companies were going out of business I was sent back to California the company eventually gave me a pretty good severance package I moved back to Idaho with my wife and child and they turned off my computers I sat at my desk for I think it was about three months I got a severance package and during that time my friend that I grew up with that encouraged me to come to Idaho he was working in the painting trade just as an apprentice for a few years and I encouraged him for three months to start a business with me with a lot of convincing he eventually said okay to starting a painting company together and that was how bnk painting was born it was Barry and ginley and we started our painting company at that time with me no experience as a painter at all and Darren just a little bit of masking and prepping experience and bnk painting started from the ground up just right there at that time
