How a Teenager can start a small business

I have a chance to interview a lot of really successful people and there's something that comes up time and time again that I need to lay on you start early if you've got kids 13 14 or 15 years old get them working in the family business if they're younger than that better I know some of you are going to be going oh whatever you know what you're really doing at that point is you're developing character in your kids time and time again these people that I'm interviewing that that they've made it in life they recall when they started and it wasn't when they were 20 it wasn't when they were 30 over and over again the pattern is they had their own accounts when they were 10 11 12 13 14 or they went out with their mom and their dad or they worked in the family business and they remember that and what you're doing is you are developing the heart of a champion right out of the gate you're not teaching a 20 or a 30 year old how to run a business you're raising them up in it if you've got kids bring them to work with you what they're going to find is they're going to be bored they may not appreciate it but 15 years down the road they're going to remember it it's huge it's is a major impact on it I can tell you straight up the stories I've heard all start with kids in the four as early as four as five 6 years old don't be afraid to bring these kids to work with you and if you don't happen to have kids if you are a kid good for you good for you for watching these videos good for you for trying because you are now ages ahead of me of guys like me that didn't have any of this and I can guarantee you because you are researching because you are trying right now at this age success will come to you you're not going to be standing on the sidelines watching it Go by waving at it while everybody else picks it up you're going to be the head of that Parade When I was 10 years old I wanted to be a banker yeah me right but it's true and I went into my bank and I met with my local loan agent and I told told her what I wanted to be she never forgot that a 10-year-old kid was willing to sit down meet with her and interview her on what it took to be in her position in fact as I grew up and I started my landscaping company she ended up hiring my company to do a $10,000 soil correction for their new home when they were building it and then they hired me to come back and do all the Landscaping all the grading work and everything else and I've still remember that relationship to this day it's never too early for you to get started on making your own path and blazing your own trail if you're a kid and you're watching this I want to make sure with your parents' permission that you understand not to be afraid to go out to the people that are in the industry wherever you may want to work to reach out and start asking them questions because you never know where that's going to lead now don't do it on your own I I got four kids of my own and I want to make sure that you guys are all safe but I don't want you to feel like it's undoable that it's out of your reach even as a kid get started just talking just conversing with people doing what you want to do you're going to learn you're going to understand maybe you re watching this because you want to be in landscaping and Excavating talk to the owner of a big Landscaping Company talk more importantly find somebody close to you if you can actually sit down and have a conversation with them what you're going to learn is that maybe just maybe Landscaping is perfect for you or maybe just maybe it's something else begin today you're 16 years old or you're 17 years old it is the perfect time to get started go get a part-time job in the industry that you want that's going to be your first stages of getting your feet wet second thing you're going to do is you're going to stay in school I can't tell you how important this is you hear me talk about you don't need a college degree you don't need a high school diploma but you may you may find that owning a business is not for you and in that case if owning a business and being your own boss isn't for you you're going to need that piece of paper to prove that you've put your time in so don't stop if you're thinking about dropping out go back to school please go back to school please finish your education as much as you can because it opens more doors it gives you more opportunities it gives you more possibilities and this is a long life you've got ahead of you you don't want to start it out on one foot hopping up and down because you've crippled yourself by not finishing your education so complete that education that's more important than your part-time job it's more important than going to work for someone if you can go on to uh school if you can go on to college awesome awesome awesome awesome Community College is a great place to start technical school it's great never stop learning you are going to hear me and every single they read books you can't watch Keith walk around without a stinking book plugged into that guy's head and that is huge it's absolutely huge for Success all right got check out this truck this is such a cool truck too I love this truck speaking of which I love you guys it's never too early to start if you're a father if you're a mother and you got kids bring them to work with you I don't care what you do that memory is going to last forever and they you're going to develop character that they won't get anywhere else and you're going to ingrain in them a level of success that they can't get through school if you're an older kid if you're 16 or 17 stay in school if you can do it go on to college I want every door open for you I want every possibility every opportunity at your feet I want you to conquer this this world cuz it's meant for you to take it's right here my friends it's right here in your heart do it do it love you guys peace brothers
