HIGH SCHOOLER SOLDERS COPPER PIPE FIRST TIME...PERFECT??
What happens here
With safety glasses on, light the propane torch. Heat the copper pipe joint evenly. The goal is to heat the copper, not the solder directly. Once the copper is hot enough, touch the solder to the opposite side of the joint from the flame. The heat will draw the molten solder into the joint via capillary action. Continue heating and applying solder until it flows completely around the joint. If any excess solder remains, it can be wiped off with a jersey glove while still hot.
Goal: Demonstrate the proper technique for heating and soldering a copper joint.
