Hidden treasure in a log! She finally realized why I bought a sawmill!

What happens here

With the log debarked, the main saw blade is engaged to make the first cut. The blade moves along the log, slicing through it. Once a slab is cut, it is carefully removed from the sawmill. The hosts show the first slab, revealing the stunning 'tiger stripe' grain of the butternut walnut. To enhance the visual, water is poured onto the fresh cut surface, simulating how it would look when finished and sealed. A drywall knife (or mud knife) is used to scrape off any remaining sawdust and debris for a clearer view. This process of cutting and revealing the grain is repeated for subsequent slabs.

Goal: Cut the first slabs and showcase the wood's natural beauty
