What happens here

This video details the process of equipment management for site preparation tasks, beginning with a job cancellation requiring the demobilization of a Kubota SVL 75-2 skid steer from an airport site. It then illustrates the subsequent remobilization of the same skid steer at a company yard, followed by the loading of a Kubota R530 wheel loader with a snow sweeper attachment from a school campus for a different, upcoming project.

load all this stuff up. We're not We're not doing this job. So, what this woman hit us with a I'm not comfortable with you guys starting this. I have no knowledge of any of this. We're going to get as much random footage as we can so you guys can make a video out of this just because this is such a absurd situation. I hope the I hope the camera identifies as a working camera. Oh, look. It looks like it's doing it working the other day. All right. Good morning, everybody. First official job of the season. And we already got some bull going on. So, we're working at the airport. We got this wall. We're not redoing it. We're just fixing some spots where it was kind of blowing out and sinking. And I'm going to be redoing these caps cuz the uh the salt this year just ate them apart. They're real bad down there. We'll show you. But as you can see, we got all of our stuff out here getting staged. We're just getting ready to start snapping caps off. And this lady came storming out of this building right here. Like who's in charge? It's like that ain't never a good thing. That ain't never a good thing. So we're we're clear to start and all this stuff. uh met the met the guy we're subbing through and all that kind of stuff. And this woman hit us with a I'm not comfortable with you guys starting this. I have no knowledge of any of this. And uh Alex, you know, showed her that we all good to you know, all good to go. And I don't know, started saying something else about how they're some other company or something like that and we can't start and all this kind of crap. So, uh I don't know. I I you guys beat me out here. I I showed up late at the yard. You guys were Oh, no. You You were on You were on time at the yard. You're good. Um, so yeah, now we're waiting to find out if we can even do a job that we were told that we can start. I'm so confused. Like a military rock. He found a military rock. All right. Uh but yeah, if we can do this job, you can see a lot of the salts eating these caps away and got some fat got some fat bows in it that we're going to knock back and kind of fix and whatnot. And then we get down this way a little bit more. They painted these too, which I don't know about that, but got a lot of fixing here. It looks like this one got clipped by a plow and whatnot. And then the salt has just been eating these things apart. Like look at this one. There's the exit. So, yeah, that's uh guess that's what we are supposed to be doing, but I guess we'll wait and find out. We might be loading everything back up and leaving, which I can't say I've ever had that happen before. First time for everything, though. All right, this one is going to get confusing. So, before we get too deep into it, let me explain how the breakdown typically goes, especially if you're not familiar with being a contractor or construction in general. There's a general contractor, and the general contractor works for a customer. The general contractor's job is to hire the subcontractors. These are the people that actually complete and perform the work. We are we are a subcontractor. The general contractor's got all his ducks in a row. The customer has not got their ducks in a row. The customer in this case is a tenant for a building. As part of their lease agreement, this tenant is required to keep up on property maintenance for their section of the building. In this case, it was retaining walls, parking lot, concrete work, etc., etc., etc., except the customer who is required to do this work didn't do their due diligence and had everything checked off with the actual building owner. And in this case, the building owner wanted verification of who is coming in. Now, I worked for the company that has that owns this building. I've worked for them for many, many, many years plowing snow at different uh locations for them. And this co company is insanely meticulous. We are talking about every time I would come in in the past, I would have to have safety checks beforehand, safety checks afterwards. I'd have to sign off who was coming into the office. I'd have to let everybody know exactly all the credentials, everything else. So to get kicked off from this job isn't that big of a surprise if the customer hasn't done the right due diligence with the building owner. And who suffers? Yeah, we do. Dude, if we can't start this up, this is going to be like the shortest job site video I think we've ever shot, right? We'll load it up. Load all this stuff up. We're not We're not doing this job. So what? Okay, you're all right. from the from the boss. Some freaking r some some random lady. Shut it down. I'm not comfortable with it. What the hell? So, here's the thing, Zachie. Right. The uh the city is coming and tearing up my whole block to redo all of the uh sewer mains again. No, not the sewer mains again. That was last year. They're redoing the natural gas lines from the street up into the meters in the house. Why did they do that when everything else has been ripped off? So, my whole yard is going to be getting ripped up and I'm going to have to redo it. I'm not comfortable with that. Can I tell those guys to take a hike and skip my house? Important enough. I ain't I ain't important enough. What the hell? We're going to going to have a 8 minute job site video for you boys. We're going to get as much random footage as we can so you guys can make a video out of this just because this is such a absurd situation. So, so now we got to pack everything up and leave and we're not doing the job that like that's it. There we go. Zach couldn't get the BI freaking what is background freaking clearance check talking so they Well, Alexis. All right, run it down, dude. We're going to try to make a video out of this. Well, uh, so we were contracted by another guy that we do snow work with. Yep. And, uh, they were contracted by another company who has a lease with Carheel or who, you know, blank to repair this wall, but they never got their upper management's approval on the wall. Cargill. Yeah. So they uh weren't so the people in the office weren't informed that we were starting today and their heads keep grounds keeper said that you know without authorization we can't start cuz they want to know the scope of the work what we're doing and I get it you know that's totally understandable but then he just told me that you know hey we got you know might take a couple hours for someone to come back and I said well I got guys sitting on the clock machines here we just drove all the way out here am I getting compensated waiting and he said we don't think so I said all right we're packing it up we're leaving I can't do this project for you know, cuz I mean, as of right now, this is already too much of a mess. Um, and and I don't even want to deal with it one bit. So, what time is it, Zachie? Uh, 9 9:14. Yeah. We got We're going to have 3 hours in this. Yep. By the And, uh, he said, "You're more than welcome to wait around." And I said, you know, at this point, we're just going to have to get off to the next job. Yep. Right. Yep. You can't just have It is what it is. Yep. So, I don't know about all you, this is a first for me. me as well, too. Yeah. That never I've had crazy neighbors come out and say that we're cutting their trees down, but we're And we don't even touch This is uh Yeah. Okay. Well, let's get out of here. I can load it on there without making it. I can work on the dump truck if you want. Otherwise, I can help Zach grab that equipment from the thing. And if I don't got really nothing to do today, that's fine, too. Come on, fingers. Damn. All that chaining I did yesterday, my hands are just cooked. One good one. Well, all the rest of them needs to be need to be just sprayed. I'm going to soak those two down at the yard cuz I was trying to cowboy this one to un loosen it. First first time I did this this year, you know, to unwind them right in the nuts, bro. Pan right away. Like seven, bro. Come on. Fingers. Fingers are overrated. They don't got to do They got to do finger things. Fingers are overrated. Fingers are overrated. We're going to we're going to get some uh some get some D-rings welded kind of a little further back so we don't got to do this uh yet. All right. Is this latched? Yes. Latched. Is that one latched? Latched. I would have found out the hard way after hit a bump. I don't think Checking them. That's good. What was that? Oh, yeah. The ramp. Tim did that, bro. On that on that original dump trailer that we did that that clapped out one here. Hold this camera for a second. So, he was he was driving down 94 or whatever and started hearing some grinding or whatever and kind of didn't really think nothing about it. And then some dude came up next to him and started honking and pointing behind him and Tim looked and it was the passenger side ramp had dropped, right? And it had just been dragging for however long. So, he pulled over, stuck his hand underneath to grab from the bottom of the ramp, right? And it was so hot, like almost immediate thirdderee burn. Dude, the blister was the size of his palm and up on his thumb. It was huge. It looked like there was a softball sticking off of there. And he popped the damn thing, right? And it was just like like a skin flap hanging under there. And then I mean, you know, my hand hurt. Oh, dude. I I He showed me. He was like, "Hey, look at this." I was like or whatever. And then I mean you know Tim I mean he had it wrapped up and stuff like that but he was still jumping in the trenches and stuff with us trying to shovel and all this stuff. It was crazy dude. I had never seen a burn like that too. Luckily he was left-handed you know so we got it on the right. But maybe we just chalk up that trailer and uh leave the rock on there in case we like we do got to come back or whatever. I don't want to come back now after all this. That got me all keyed up. We're in this tight tiny little parking lot, too. Good lord. Okay. Well, we're trucking on out of here. I'll let you guys ride with Zach on down to the yard here, and we'll uh we'll figure out what the hell we're going to do for the rest of the day. All right, guys. So, I'm going to jump in here because I do want to tell you about the Dirt Monkey shop. We just onboarded a bunch of new t-shirt designs, hat designs, and sweatshirt designs over there. And we brought on some new vendors just recently. We've got a ton of cool products over at the Dirt Monkey Shop. But this is a place, guys, where it's been a passion project of mine. And Timmy and Alex jumped on board and we found Tommy, who is an insanely amazing developer. And between the four of us, we were able to put the Dirt Monkey shop together for you as one safe place that you can go and make sure that your dollars are spent wisely. We have the best prices we can possibly give you at that site. We've scoured the internet to make sure that we're able to give you the best prices and the most secure as well. You see, what's been happening is AI and scammers like to steal our videos, take them, scrub the information off, and try to sell you the same products, but a lot of times they're not delivering on it. If you order from the Dirt Monkey shop, we're going to deliver for you each and every single time. So, if there's anything you need and you ever wanted to support this channel, the best way you can do that is jumping over to the Dirt Monkey shop because that's going to help us keep making videos like this. But let's jump back into the action and see what happens with the boys after this now. Guys, I don't know how many pieces of equipment I've taken off of the trailers and every time I hit that pivot point, I'm like, I'm going to die. Still, it'd be funny if we still got paid for it and we didn't do anything. No. Alex asked Alex asked, "Well, are we going to get compensated for sitting around here for 3 hours since you guys didn't have any of your together?" And the dude was like, "Uh, probably not." Hurry up. Wait. Like, hurry up and wait. Like what? Okay. Well, I guess uh I'm going to lube up that. I'm going to lube this one up. All right. But then we will uh All right. That's what all we got for you. We'll go we'll go grab that K Cabota. Um and then just uh find some stuff to do for a bit, I guess. Yes, we're recording. All right. We're up here at North High. for grabbing this K Cabota and we're loading it on the Raceland trailer here as soon as I figured out where the key is. There. Can't show you guys the secret hiding spot. All right. Gloves and we start let plugs in for a bit cuz it's cold outside today. Come on. Come on. Where? There you are. Bumble. But yeah, no, we're going to get this loaded up, get all this back to the yard, and then the sledge will be a different trip whenever Johnny gets back or Alex might grab it itself and finish on the race trailer. But that's a whole another ball game. [Music] All right. Now, we are going to wait for Sam to get back cuz we got to have somebody on the break and all this other stuff cuz this is a big load. So, we'll reconvene when he gets back. Okay, loader loaded. Wow, that's a lot of back lighting on there. My bad if I just blew y'all's eyeballs out. All right, chain her down and get out on the road. What? All right, locked up, chain down, ready to go. Kind of turned into kind of kind of turned into a weird day. Yeah, that leveled uh that leveled out pretty good with that on there. I know. I wish I had the plow on the front of this thing. It's really should be really leveled out now. Zack's going to get me down to the yard without killing me. That's what I told That's why I keep telling the freaking That plow does have that plow does have a lot of weight. Oh, and I guess right before we were leaving when I was talking to Alex, he said that we might I think I think we got the okay to go out and do that job we got kicked off of tomorrow. Ladies and gentlemen, we got that. We got that. All right, let's do that. All right, guys. Not every day goes the way we want it to, and that's okay. Sometimes, I mean, I don't know, maybe it's just me, but there's been jobs that I wish I would have never started in the first place. Maybe this was one of them. And in fact, you know, you get that vibe that uh, you know, oh, you know, maybe uh that weird feeling before you start listening to that. If you get that vibe, that's your body telling you that the person that's giving you that vibe may not have your best interest at heart. It's called instinct. It's called a gut reaction. And there's something to it. Don't be a fool. Don't work for people that aren't going to treat you right. But that's it for this video. Hope you guys enjoyed going along for the ride. As always, I just want to say God bless and go get them. We'll see you guys on another one. And thanks for all of your support over all these years.
