Grumpy Bees Get A SURPRISE!
What happens here
After successfully transferring the frames and shaking the remaining bees into the new deep super, the presenter places the inner cover and outer cover on the beehive. He then positions the old nuc box directly in front of the new beehive entrance. This is done so that any remaining foraging bees, accustomed to the old location, will land near the old box and find their way into the new hive. He explains that bees follow pheromones, and within a couple of hours, they will settle into their new home. He encourages viewers to educate themselves on beekeeping before starting to ensure success.
Goal: Complete the hive setup and ensure the transferred bees acclimate to their new home.
