GMT400 Suburban Frame Off Build: Body Removal & Getting Ready for Frame Paint! (What To Remove)

What happens here

The creator identifies the fuel filler neck, vent hose, ground wire for the fuel gauge, and fuel lines (feed and return) that need to be disconnected from the fuel tank. He uses a pair of pliers and mentions lubricating the hoses. The fuel lines are described as being cut later because they are rubber and will be replaced with AN lines for the new engine. The fuel pump plug is also disconnected.

Goal: Separate the fuel tank from the vehicle's body and frame

Tools and materials

gas T off yeah filler neck and the vent hose which I lubed those already those two hose clamps um this is ground probably for the fuel gauge I would guess I think we're going to disconnect the brake master cylinder from the brake booster uh the steering shaft and the rear AC lines and heater lines because they run along the frame you lower this thing down and get to it also if you're wondering why the engine is still in there it's just in there for ballast to have some weight in the front once we go to do the body we'll take that back out I'm just going to take these two nuts off right here don't know what happens when you do that cuz I've never done one of the before but I read online that um you could do that instead of disconnecting all these lines which we'll probably have to do later cuz I don't think this Frame is going to like flopping around on the root to three too much with this in our face we'll see we don't even even need to use a retis but he has one so I feel like we have to do it just to make a post on the internet and bother people people a small amount of people are bothered that we're even doing this in the first place it's a waste of time well nothing's a waste of time if you enjoy it that's all that matters I label a bag for these but I think this is a better place there's a lot going on there I don't know if we need this anymore we'll R do some research on that later and I think we can just take this nut out right here and disconnect the shaft also anybody in the comments know if you have to swap the whole column out to get the cable shift linkage because we want to get rid of the mechanical linkage it takes up too much room next to the transmission we need that room for headers so we want the newer cable style one but I don't know if you have to change the whole column to do that you know how Michael Scott wears like like maxi pads on his armpits for sweat damn you Dylan his gray shirts look at that factory Loctite still in there I'm sorry oh it's I don't care this is this is real life like oh
