What happens here
With the temporary supports in place, carefully lift the pre-fabricated pillar cap and rest it on the temporary supports. Ensure it is centered and stable. Proceed to complete the masonry work of the stone pillar base, mortaring the final courses of natural stone blocks underneath the suspended cap. Once the mortar has set and cured sufficiently, the temporary wooden supports can be removed. The pillar cap will then settle neatly onto the finished stone pillar, surrounding the wooden post without any custom cuts being necessary.
Goal: Finish the stone pillar and lower the cap into its permanent position.
