What happens here
After sanding the grain filler, apply one or two coats of high-quality primer. Primer helps seal the grain filler, provides better adhesion for the topcoat, and ensures a more uniform final color. Once the primer is dry, apply two to three thin coats of your chosen paint color. Allow sufficient drying time between each coat, and lightly sand with very fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 320-400 grit) between paint coats if needed for extra smoothness. After the paint has fully cured, reinstall original hardware or attach new knobs and pulls to complete the piece. The video showcases several finished pieces in grey, black, and blue, demonstrating the smooth, grain-free results.
