Furniture Flipping 101: Transform Your Thrift Finds into Treasures!

What happens here

Now, prepare the furniture for painting by priming. If using a 2K poly (two-component polyurethane) product that is self-sealing and catalyzed, it can act as both a primer and a sealer, blocking tannins and offering chemical and water resistance. However, if not using a self-sealing product, apply a dedicated primer first. If any 'fish-eye' issues (small craters or blemishes) appear after the initial coat of paint, spot prime those areas with a spray primer like Zinsser B-I-N, lightly sand it, and the fish-eye should disappear. For small nicks and dings, use Bondo glazing putty to fill them in for a perfectly smooth surface.

Goal: Prepare the surface for paint adhesion and fill any remaining minor imperfections.
