What happens here

Following the initial orbital sanding, a crucial final step is performed using a super fine half-inch sponge. This sponge is used to meticulously hand-sand and 'scratch' the table's surface, particularly on the legs and any other detailed or contoured areas. The purpose of this step is to create a uniform, fine scratch pattern across the entire surface. This fine abrasion is essential for ensuring optimal adhesion of the upcoming third and final coat of 2K poly, especially when aiming for a flat finish, as it provides a mechanical bond for the new coating.
