What happens here
Once the grain filler has thoroughly dried (refer to product instructions, usually several hours or overnight), it's time to sand the surface smooth. Use an orbital sander, such as the 'Ekasand 3x4 sander' shown in the video, fitted with appropriate grit sandpaper (e.g., 220-320 grit for initial sanding). Connect the sander to a dust extraction system or shop vacuum to minimize airborne dust. Sand the entire surface until all excess grain filler is removed and the wood feels perfectly smooth to the touch, with no visible or tactile grain texture. Ensure even pressure and avoid over-sanding in any one spot to maintain a flat surface.
