Install Rigid Foam Insulation

What happens here
The video states that two feet of styrofoam (rigid foam insulation) was installed. Measure and cut the rigid foam insulation boards to fit the height of the exposed foundation, typically starting from slightly above grade down into the trench. Common types are Extruded Polystyrene (XPS), which is often pink or blue, or Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), which is white. XPS is generally preferred for below-grade applications due to its higher R-value per inch and better moisture resistance. Apply construction adhesive specifically designed for foam boards and concrete to the back of the insulation panels, then firmly press them onto the cleaned foundation wall. Ensure a tight fit between panels and use compatible sealant in any gaps to create a continuous thermal barrier. The top edge of the insulation should ideally extend slightly above the finished grade level to prevent thermal bridging at the rim joist.
Goal: Attach rigid foam insulation panels to the exterior of the foundation wall.
