Apply Painter's Tape

What happens here

Begin by carefully applying painter's tape, such as FrogTape, along the junction where the baseboard meets the floor. Unroll the tape steadily, ensuring it adheres precisely to the very top edge of the floor, directly against the baseboard. Use your fingers or a putty knife to firmly press down the tape, creating a tight seal along its entire length. This crucial step prevents paint from seeping under the tape, which is essential for achieving a crisp, clean paint line. Continue this process along all baseboards that will be painted against.
