today we are checking out a partially stopped up bathroom sink they say it starts to fill up when they brush their teeth we're just going to fill it drain it see what it does get back here hit that b boy yeah it gets an initial rush and then it gets really slow okay well that for sure is slow draining you got to love vanities man such tight spaces these days water is dripping out of this fitting right here and we're actually going to eliminate this it does not need to have those kind of bins to go into the wall I'm going to show you a really easy way without cutting anything out to connect let's pop the Trap cool oh my gosh okay oh wow yeah this is a weird little setup get back here to this nut it's weird it's actually upside down I don't even know where you buy that at and so a lot of times I would use the same trap but because this has this weird setup off the bottom I'm going to change it out I can tell right away that they put the wrong fitting in the wall okay there's supposed to be a San right there and you can tell by the way that that's coming out of the wall right there that that is not a San that's a com combination Y and eth Bin this is what we've got so this is what we'll use I'm going to show you a real easy way to adapt to this drain line right here without having to cut anything one more thing to do let's take the pop-up assembly out real quick too and just make sure there is no other obstruction in here so grab this from the top grab this nut right here loosen it up pull this out and look down it it's clear we can put that back together so we're going to pull out the Rigid power spin plus connects to your drill and we're just going to be able to run this out right down into the main line just make sure everything is clear we've got it apart and now is a great time this right here is a good little DIY homeowner investment for clearing a little small stoppages I've Loved this thing for bathtubs and sinks it's been awesome the nice thing about this is is it's got this grip so I'm really not to get my hands dirty you feel it start to bind up the way that it did just let off the trigger and let it run for a little while just let it grind on that area and a lot of times it'll break it up definitely out into the 3in the toilet is right next door to me here I've ran this out probably 10t more than it needed to be just make sure everything is out of the line you would run water if you could in this situation so when you're done snaking instead of reversing it just pull it back that way you're going to keep whatever is on it trapped on it we've definitely had some hair clog going on there this part of the job is a definitely glove territory if you actually have to be touching cable when you're running it it's a great idea to have leather gloves so three fittings right here are going to help us adapt to this without having to cut it off this right here is just inch and a half pipe thread we're going to connect with a female adapter got a 22° elbow that will give us just enough kickout right here to make our P trap reach and then we need a mail adapter and we're going to be using female fittings for this because we want it as close as we possibly can right here once we get this screwed on here then we'll able to glue this up into place and we'll add our trap and our extension piece and we're going to be good you might have PVC in your house so in our area residential drain line is done in ABS slap a little bit of megalock pipe dope and I just get this piece here tightened the whole way up you have some OD medium black ABS cement so make sure that your glue is still gluey right you want it to be liquid turns to gel get rid of it you you want to hold it together for a few seconds just make sure it's good and stuck together good to go when you put it in quarter turn it I hate these dumb stickers man get that glued in place s a little wiggle room up or down here some's just going to chop it right there blad's getting dull so when going from inch and a quarter like this tail piece to inch and a half this ain't going to work you need one of these reducer washers it's a little bit thicker and it allows for you to transition to that inch and a quarter when you're using these just always give it a twist it helps make a good cut and prevents cracking that KN on pushed up in place get that up in place bring that back a little bit grab a tape measure just make it five and a qu okay pop that back in place perfect and just because I'm weak I'm just going to go just a little bit I mean not even an eighth right maybe a normal man's hand tight turn on the water and we're going to start filling and draining we've got this completely filled up right now water is going down the Overflow we're going to give this a fullon test we're going to let this run for a little bit make sure the Overflow is not clogged and I'm going to fill and drain this several times oh yeah that sounds great it's not stopping like it used to and it went the whole way down all right so there we go everything looks good everything's dry and per the usual I like to leave something under the trap to check for a drip they already had this bowl here so I just put some paper towel underneath it as well and just said hey just check it for a couple of days make sure it's good then you can put your stuff back
