Finish Mower...Does it make the cut? You Decide!
What happens here
The mower's drive belt tension needs to be checked and adjusted if necessary. To adjust, loosen the four bolts securing the gearbox assembly. This allows the gearbox to slide, which in turn adjusts the tension of the drive belt. Use the adjustment mechanism (a small bolt and nut) to achieve the correct tension. Once tension is set, tighten the four gearbox mounting bolts securely. After the first hour or so of operation, it's recommended to re-check all nuts and bolts on the mower as they may loosen slightly due to vibrations.
Goal: Ensure proper belt tension for efficient operation.
