Fence braces explained...a look at different fencing ideas!
What happens here
Luke examines a second H-brace built by Southerland Fencing and Cox Fencing. This brace is structurally similar to the first, using 12.5 gauge high-tensile wire in a figure-8 pattern. However, instead of a crimp sleeve, the wire is wrapped to secure the tensioner, which is an acceptable alternative. Additionally, staples are used on both sides of the vertical post to prevent the brace wire from digging into the wood and to facilitate easier sliding when installed. The brace wire runs from the top of one post to the bottom of the other to counteract the pulling force of the fence.
Goal: Examine the variations and subtle improvements in H-brace construction.
