Farmer's Winter Pastures....Am I wasting money on this? #farming #farm

I just bought a pallet of this grass seed right here. So, uh, it was expensive. This is probably, I think, right at $2,800 worth of grass seed. So, this year, it's not saving me anything, but we're testing it out. We want to make sure. I bought 200 bales of hay this year. I ended up only buying 150 bales. So, hopefully this is going to save us from having to put 50 more bales out. So, let's load it up on the tractor and get busy. I'm gonna tell you something. It's pretty dag on common sense. Don't do this in your driveway. I'm doing this for video sake. Do it out in the pasture. You're going to spill some grass seed every single time you empty a bag of grass seed. Whether it's in your lawn or whether it's in your pastures, do it in the yard or do it in the pasture. Don't do it in the driveway. You're just wasting money. I'm going to be spreading grass seed on the pasture that the cows are moving into and let them hoof it into the soil. No grass seed goes to waste. Now, if you call your grass seed guy, he's going to say, "Well, you're going to need to put six bags to the acre." I ain't putting six bags to the acre. We're doing about four bags to the acre here on the Stony Ridge Farm. That's what makes sense for me. We're overseeding healthy pasture. We're not seeding brand new pasture. So, that's why we do this. And that clover should probably hit first and then the perennial, excuse me, the ryrass will hit first. Then the clover will hit and then the fescue will
