Farm Fencing..knot tying, stretching wire and repair techniques with outtakes!

What happens here

The fence line is installed by running the wire on the inside of the corner post. To apply tension, the installer uses a set of Strainrite boundary strainers and a Strainrite wedge bar. These tools are attached to the wire and the end post, allowing for a tight, consistent pull. The technique involves wrapping the tail of the wire around the post and then using crimp sleeves to secure it, creating a strong and continuous stretch without tying individual knots at each post.

Goal: Apply tension to the fence wire using specialized tools.

Tools and materials

  • Crimp Sleeves — Securing the wire ends after stretching
  • Crimp Tool — Crimping the sleeves onto the wire
  • Steel Corner Post — The anchor point for the fence tension
  • Steel Struts — Supporting the corner post against tension
  • Strainrite Boundary Strainers Strainrite — Applying tension to the fence wire
  • Strainrite Wedge Bar Strainrite — Securing the wire during tensioning
