(4,739 characters)hey there folks this is josh stoney ridge farmer and look who i brought along mrs stoney ridge she finally decided to come and join me for a video so we're out here by the garden right now these are our sunflowers and today we have a new addition to the farm so we want to take you guys down and show you the new addition our number three cow which we call butt head because every time i touch her on her head she tries to butt me so our number three cow had her calf last night we've been expecting her to have a calf for about a week now and she finally had it it's the cutest thing you've ever seen so come along today this is going to be a fun video not really educational too educational we'll talk a little bit about the baby cow and about what to expect and we'll just go down and see the cutest little thing you ever see in your life it's going to be a good time all right [Music] stoney [Music] [Laughter] okay so this is butthead and this is why we call her butt head because bloodhead always likes the butt and this is foothead's little baby and i'mma let you guys vote what butthead's little baby needs to be named and he is a male so it's a little bull calf very very cute we're gonna get you just a little bit of footage and let you just watch butthead and in this little bull calf i don't know we're thinking about naming him cody i don't know kind of cool [Music] mrs stoney ridge is going to give the cows a little scoop of grain we give the cows a treat every day just so that we can keep them tame we rub on them we basically bucket train them so that we can move them throughout our pastures and our paddocks very easily when we get ready to rotationally graze so this is a pasture that's about 22 acres right here and it's about time to move them i'm gonna have to mow this pretty soon because the weeds are starting to take over and we don't want the weeds to seed out and cause problems for next year [Music] ah [Music] uh [Music] so guys what you're seeing right here is some bonding behavior that cows do as a herd so i think that's her other calf from last year and she's bonding with the other calf to let her know it's okay [Music] in a cow herd quite often you'll see the i guess cows licking each other i guess is the word for it they'll they'll go in and they'll lick each other they establish basically a family of and then that's that's how they establish their family by looking on each other's shoulders and withers or whatever like that so that's what mama's doing right there and baby seems to be totally full what do you think miss stoney ridge he's a cutie so we came down here just a little bit earlier and or well we looked down here and the baby was drinking from mama so baby needs to drink and sleep just like a regular human baby so baby drinks baby sleeps baby drinks baby sleeps that's it we'll get you a little bit more footage here [Music] what are you doing what are you doing this is susie susie what are you doing susie susie likes to lick susie it's okay [Music] it's okay we got a new friend we got a new friend susie [Music] so [Music] well guys it looks like that's the show for the day uh baby cow is stuffed full of milk so again we saw uh man you guys let us know what what you think we ought to name the little baby i i don't know what do you think i like cody you like cody yeah name them after wrangler star and then eat them later on that could be pretty funny so uh i think our little baby cow's gonna do absolutely great i'm a little bit concerned because our donkeys are right up there but they seem to be keeping their distance and the the calf has been really curious kind of wandering around the donkeys and they've left them alone so i think it's going to be good the reason we have the donkeys is to protect our cows and our calves if coyotes were to come into the pasture so any kind of predator donkey is the solution right there so one donkey will protect two donkeys will become a donkey herd and they'll kind of hang together and that's why they're kind of hanging up there instead of hanging with the cows so what we're gonna have to do is get rid of our little male donkey that's what's gonna happen guys thanks a lot for joining us here on the stoney ridge farm today we've got a new addition to the farm super exciting i hope you guys are excited for us we'll get you more footage as time goes on hopefully they'll wander off here in just a minute and we'll get you some footage as they wander off this little cow stumbling around is just the cutest thing you've ever seen thanks a lot for joining us here on the stoney ridge farm that's what's going on today here on the farm all right we'll see you next time huh [Music] uh [Music] um [Music] so [Music] you
