Farm Fencing at it's best! Awesome fence building competition with Tornado Wire!

What happens here

Ryan Sloop demonstrates two types of fence braces: the typical American H-brace (using 7x10 foot posts driven to grade with a 6x10 foot horizontal member and diagonal wire) and the Rantz brace. The Rantz brace features a mortise and tenon joint, internally fixed galvanized pins, and a long diagonal post driven deep into the ground, eliminating the need for external hardware. He highlights the aesthetic and structural differences, noting the Rantz brace's popularity overseas for its superior strength.

Goal: Showcase different fence brace designs and their construction methods.

Tools and materials

  • 6x10 foot Member — Horizontal member of the H-brace
  • 7x10 foot Post — Vertical members of the H-brace
  • Diagonal Wire — Adding strength to the H-brace by counteracting tension
  • Galvanized Pins — Securing internal members in the Rantz brace
  • Rantz Brace Post — Diagonal subsurface post for the Rantz brace
