Unhitch Coop and Open Automatic Door
At 1:08 in
Farm Animals that Work? Chickens love to Sanitize and Fertilize Pastures!
What happens here
After parking the coop in its new location, unhitch it from the utility vehicle by removing the pin from the UTV's receiver. Then, ensure the automatic chicken door, labeled 'Run-Chicken', is properly set up. The door is programmable via a phone app, typically releasing chickens around 9 AM and closing automatically at night to protect them from predators. For manual control, a small nail can be inserted into a pre-drilled hole above the door to prevent it from opening automatically, keeping the chickens inside the coop if needed. Open the door to allow the chickens to exit into their new free-range area.
Goal: Deploy the coop and release chickens into the new pasture.
