Farm Animals that Work? Chickens love to Sanitize and Fertilize Pastures!

What happens here

To protect chickens from predators, especially at night, implement several deterrents. The coop itself is predator-proof with sturdy construction. Additionally, solar-powered, motion-activated lights are installed on the coop. These lights illuminate the area if a predator approaches, exposing it and scaring it away. For daytime protection, especially for younger birds, electrified poultry netting (Premier One Netting is mentioned) can be used. Although the chickens in the video are now large enough to defend themselves with roosters, for smaller chickens, this netting is crucial. The netting has electrified and non-electrified strands, powered by an electric fence controller, to deter predators.

Goal: Protect chickens from predators using coop features and fencing.

Tools and materials

  • Electric Fence Controller — Powering the electrified poultry netting
  • Mobile Chicken Coop Homemade — Providing shelter and protection
  • Solar Motion-Activated Lights — Deterring nocturnal predators by sudden illumination
